I believe that we have taken "nerdiness" to an entirely new level! We have created a sub-culture of our own, that only we can understand! We are Star Wars CRT geeks and proud of it! We are a select group of a few individuals, who can actually see all of the Star Wars movies the way they were intended: with true blacks and none of that digital grey mist! Long live the CRT empire!!!

Tru dat! I thought your Star Wars jokes were hilarious, but I couldn't tell them to anybody else... because the only people who would understand them are already reading them here!!

Yeah explaining one of these jokes while having to back stop the story tends to get on real peoples nerves.

Exactly!!! This forum is the last safe haven for our kind! Where else could we be having this conversation without people going "huh...." with a mystified look on their face?
I will be using my Marquee 8500 for as long as possible. I am currently in the process of restoring my 9500 Ultra as well. I love sci fi movies (I practically HAVE to watch at least an episode of ST:TNG daily in an OCD way) and most of them have a lot of space scenes and low APL scenes. No digital projector would satisfy me at the moment. So, I am sticking with my CRT!

I think the guys on Big Bang might get the jokes. Wink Last weeks Star Wars themed episode was one of the best this year.

You guys say no digital would satisfy you, but I think you would be surprised by the latest JVCs with DI. Kris Deering measured 450k to 1 on/off cr in his latest review. The highest gamma corrected CRT I have ever seen is 750k to 1.
