Yeah mate, he and i went to school together. He rarely sells anything, but like i say mate he is hoarding them, he will be very unlikely to ever use them all. Hes got 4x PGs, 2x XGs, and a Sony G70.

The thing about NEC projectors that i reckon makes them so good is their convergence system, and the incredible stability it tends to have when set up well. Its not out out the question to get faultless convergence and exceptional focus right to the corners, and if you do it right, itll stay right where you set it. The adjustments on convergence are very fine, which unlike alot of others will pretty much garrantee perfection where others cant always do that. Besides all the regular adjustments in the alignment menu, there is also around 200 points of very fine adjustment per colour, which have considerable range.

With the exception of the plain version of the PG, all were factory fitted with colour filtered HD-144 or HD-145 lenses, both of which are considered the best AC coupled lenses available. The plain PG has colour filtered HD-6 lenses, which ive found to be quite good, however not quite as good on corner focus.

The colour and contrast of the PGs and XGs is very good, the EM focus is always razor sharp, they all have a switch or in menu setting for near perfect blue defocus.

Here is a close up of the exceptional convergence and linearity that can be had from an NEC, not a single dot out of alignment:

I'm used to a washed out LCD! It's a real beauty. Haha.

LCDs can look fine if you set the brightness correctly.

Hey xaaronx, I am preparing to offload my Sony 1272. It has a mere 800 hours on it, comes perfectly calibrated (after many many weekends spent fine tuning) and is loaded with a Moome card so you can connect modern devices to it. I love the picture it throws and I will be very sad to see it go. I am only selling as I have just upgraded to a G70. I've got a road case for it too so shipping interstate is no problem. Would love to see it go to a good home. Drop me a PM if you are interested.
Cheers.
