What the hell is going on in here? I bought a new bulb for the BenQ as well so u guys can see it in all it's glory. I think you will be most definitely impressed unless you are sensitive to "rainbows" of which I am not with this projector.

What's up peeps? Are we getting excited or what?

A red eye flight? No, not excited! Razz

Just think though, if I don't get sleep on the flight, you might be able to take another pix of me passed out in your theater, this time I'll slump forward so you can see the bald spot that wasn't there last time. Mr. Green Mr. Green

I am actually going to be selling the stack and the custom switcher that Mike Parker built and modded for me to drive it.

Not sure on the price yet........

I have no idea! I've passed on buying these, everything is located in the UK, so shipping would be insane.

My guess would be a couple of raster-scan projectors. Even the best scanning CRT just isn't sharp enough to render things like HUDs, runway lights, or the nav lights on other aircraft with any realistic level of detail or brightness at the typical "equivalent viewing angle", so sim manufacturers often integrate separate raster-scan projectors for those things. I've also seen simulators with multiple CRT projectors for the environment, and a single, small digital projector mounted in the center to overlay a small HUD.

If I had a big workshop or garage or something, with an 150 or 200 square feet to just burn, I'd LOVE to build a flight simulator some day.

My buddy was just at a tradeshow in Vegas on Tuesday and was able to try out Boeing's latest and greatest military flight simulator. He said the level of immersion was absolutely stunning and while the simulator does not physically move; he stated that while performing a barrel role he became dizzy.

Yeah Steve, I could see you never leaving your garage Laughing

Oh, totally.

I would make an AWESOME rich person. You know the people that win the lottery and take up drugs and alcohol because they have nothing else to fill their time? That's not me. I'd be in my "compound" with my giant workshop, and I'd be on first-name basis with the UPS and FedEx drivers, and no - I wouldn't leave… Much. Hey honey, can you bring dinner out to the workshop tonight? I'm doing something super-cool. Wink

You don't need to be rich. Nash already pretty much lives this lifestyle; he just needs someone to bring him dinner Wink

Sort of. My problem is that to afford the toys I want to play with, I have to work. A lot. Which, unfortunately then means I don't have much time to play - especially with kids and the one who brings me dinner. Wink

Then, there's that pesky problem of "workshop". Don't have one, can't afford a house with the square footage to have much of one - yet.

Continuing to work toward the goal of a bigger house and space to play with the kids and some toys to put in it. Hoping to get there by 50. Six years to go. Looking around for houses a bit, and have run into a couple that weren't really out of our price range that in addition to 3 or even 4-car garages, also have a detached garage/workshop. That's more of a fantasy to me than imagining a night with the hottest woman... Wink
