The picture gets large red bars that are actually a lack of green and the problem is intermittent but is getting worse,
It doesn't seem to be a bias problem.

The bands can be seen well against the skin color,, they are stationary and do not roll,,, but the picture dose get darker from the lack of full green color.

Not sure,, it seems steady output with changing pictures,, it will change to normal like a switch at times,, seems like maybe a capacitor going bad.

No im thinking more along the lines of a bad splitter or bad HV lead connection or bad G2 connection/control on the green so it loses brigtness under load., i notice that red band lines up with the text either side at the bottom.

Are you sure its just green and not blue as well?? Put up a Cyan pattern, as well as a Purple pattern, then a yellow pattern, and report what you see.

Maybe the woman just has a bad rash? Smile

I'd say you have a ground loop in the system somewhere. What happens if you connect just the video signal source to the projector? Disconnect all audio, and disconnect any cable/satellite input cable. Does the banding go away?

Already check for that,, the color of the setup screens will be wrong when it does this, and yes that's with the inputs cables removed.

So you see this line as well when everything is disconnected from the input of the projector, and you just put up the internal test patterns?

If so, I've never seen this before, and would suspect one of the video boards potentially, or maybe an issue in the power supply.

I do have all boards for the 1252, and am selling them dirt cheap since not many people use the 12XX sets any more.

A voltage sag as CasetheCorvetteman suggests, seems to make some sense, for
It does show the line associated with the size of bright areas of the picture,
But just shows as dimming of the green and maybe blue across the whole
Screen on a white setup screen..
But at times it just snaps back to normal at times.

Oh, forgot to mention that the green has gone off dark twice and would come back after turning the set off then back on,, and no error message.

Youve got a bad connection there somewhere, check some solder joints around the set.

It would help if I had a close location to look at because I'm not as good at this as I use to be.

Well start with anything that feeds anything to the tubes, im not familiar with the 12 series Sony so i dont know what boards are there.

Analog Rocks has spent abit of time with the 12s i think.
