I am currently using black out material trim with black velvet, Would a draper luma2 screen look better? I know it's not much of a gain but would it be worth the effort? Thanks.

Luma 2 is a screen set-up not a screen. What gain you choose is different.

Hey Randy, thanks for the reply. The screen i just bought for 25.00 is the Draper Luma 2 Matte White Part # 206080 116 in. 16x9. I have not picked it up yet and just wondering if it would be much improvement over blackout cloth? Thanks. If not then it's no big loss. PJ is a bd808s.

Actually it's Clay, I just quoted Randy from my name is Earl.
Matt white will be only slightly better. BO cloth tends to be slightly under unity gain, and your Draper is about 1.0.

Picked up the screen, it's in perfect condition. I plan to hang it in front of my bo screen just to see how i like it. If it looks better i plan to pull my screen frame down remove bo cloth (home made frame 96"X 54") and cut the draper from its frame and install it on my fixed frame. The draper is large enough to wrap around the frame a couple of inches. The only thing that concerns me is how easy will it be to get wrinkles out since the draper does not strech like bo cloth. Does this sound like to much effort for to little gain? The bo cloth is flat looking and the draper has a slight sheen to it, is it this sheen that will give a little more gain? Thanks.

If you decide you want borders on the Draper material. They use a Sherman Williams paint called wrought iron flat black to touch up borders. The item # is 141-5082. They spray it on. I call my local SW. Yep! Spray can. Be careful and get it on the viewing section. I've seen somewhere what Stewart uses but can't find it. It's on AVS, somewhere.

Thanks for the reply Aubrey, I have a roll of the veltex that i used on my bo cloth that i plan to use also on the draper. It's a velvet like ribbon that really looks nice. I have compared the 2 screens and they are pretty close the biggest difference is on the bo cloth the whites are yellow compared to the draper.
