I have a 9500LC that has been setup by Craig Rounds from Chicago. He did a FANTASTIC job but it has been about 1 1/2 years since he did his magic. I am using an older Lumagen HDP which I realize is not optimal but Craig got good results with it. I also have a Moome card from about 2 years ago.
Anyhow, recently I noticed that my Convergence had drifted quite a lot. Now, I have probably run through the Convergence a few times since Craig's setup. It had really been great until recently when I noticed that my Convergence was way off. I have now run through the Convergence 3 times and each time it looks great.... until the next day (or 3 days) later when I turn it on to watch something. I have tried both the INTERPOLATED Convergence setup and the GUIDED Convergence setup.
Any thougts on why the Convergence is drifting off so quickly. It never did that before and is not subjected to any vibration or anything like that.
Thanks for any help!!!! Sincerely, Tony

When you do the convergence do you unlock the memory and then re lock it?

Hi Tony,

This may be an obvious question but you are unlocking the individual memories and re-locking after the convergence has been done; right?

If you are then the memory may be corrupted and it's time to use the Marquee loader software

What I would do is download the Marquee Loader program (Librarian and Control software found here: http://www.curtpalme.com/ElectrohomeMarquee_Downloads.shtm), do the convergence and then save this with the loader. Then you can reinitialize the projector (clears memory) and reload your saved settings.

I would try this first and if that still doesn't work then it may be a hardware issue (likely either the control module aka CLM or the Convergence board).

Regards,

Justin

This way you can

Hello

It is easy to overlook the basics with CRTs. You want to match raster heights and widths using the service menu and a width coil tool on the HDM, this will minimize the workload, heat, and potential drift of the convergence amps. Allow 30-40 minutes warmup when converging. More info here: http://www.etechvideo.com/techtip9.htm

Well... no.... I have just been going into the Convergence menu and running through the GUIDED or INTERPOLATED convergence. Which one should I use? Then I just press SAVE when I am done.
Can you guys tell how to unlock it so it will save my adjustments. I don't want to mess up any of the things that Craig did. Although, clearly, it needs to be re-converged. Thanks!!

ok, its easy nothing will change Craigs Calibration.

Press utilities, 1(source set up), 3( lock or unlock) pressing 3 will lock or unlock that memory.
Now Converge using guided or interpolated doesn't really matter guided will alter overall convergence from the last one done.

After your done converging go back to utilities and source set up and then press 3 to lock it.

it will show locked or unlocked.

Thats it.
