I found it to cause a number of issues.... Black level was basically gone with it on.

It might work positive on some low level crt projectors. I use the 0-255 setting on the moome, and setting my source to 16-235, it almost makes a perfect black and white, so i guess the settings is a bit messed up maybe named wrong in the moome.

I have the default on there, 16-235, it seems to look better with my bluray player.

Ive got it set to 4:2:2 and extended colour space, so BTB and WTW can be seen, the player doesnt show them otherwise, and same occurs if i set the MOOME to 0-255.

your not suppose to mix video level. BD is 16-235 and all should be the same all the way to the PJ to avoid processing and scaling, mostly banding will happen

That is how its set now. Setting the extended to off is like setting it to 0-255, not only banding, black crush, white crush, orange crush... Theyre all there...

I was under the impression bluray was also 4:2:0, but by default 3 different players ive used set it to 4:4:4, it looks a shade better to me on 4:2:2.

What happens when you set 16-235 on your moome card.?

Mine will display whiter than white, and i need to adjust white level on the radiance to around +18 to get it close, but its not possible to both clip out whiter than white and display the close to white after that setting.

【Notice】 With range expand function on, you will not see BTB and WTW. But
you can get more black and white picture.

A Output range 16-235 (range expand off)
B Output range 0-255 (range expand on)

What level do you select on your moome.. A or B.? when 16-235 out of your player.?

Maybe a picture of your dip switch, easier than explaining it all.

The MOOME is set to 16-235, it looks sh*t house if you set it any other way.

Setting it to 0-255 assumes the signal coming in it is that, and it kills the BTB and WTW, as 16 becomes 0 and 235 becomes 255.

The same happens on my bluray player if i set extended range off.

Ok thats a bit wierd, like all my 3 Moome V3 vim look like sh*t with total off white if set to 16-235.

And correcting it in the radiance makes it even more messed up.

Can you post a picture of your dip switch, that might help me understand.?

If i read the manual right, then you are running with black boost on, component output, and 0-255

Kurt read up on Calibration or do a search on PC vs Video levels. you are never to mix them it causes all weird issues. I NEVER touch white or Black in the XS. Only use the CMS and for those times where i watch TV( rarely on the blend) and the BD calibration is different, I then use the gamma factor to .93 which will rise the black level to where I like it.

Keep the level the same all the way, or you will clip or crush things. I think this is why you say you have elevated blacks on your marquee with the line mod.

No youre reading it upside down. The manual i have says down is black boost off, 16-255, and RGB

Im still getting banding, and if i turn the brightness or CRT cutoffs down far enough to get black im losing all dark detail.

I dont know why moome calls it black boost because it is not. 0 is black for PC level and 16 is the same damn black for Video level. If you mix the digital conversion you will crush or clip something.

For video source use 16-235 for PC stuff like the desk top, desk top pubilishing video its 0-255.

Ive always used 16-235, 0-255 looks terrible.

Something isnt right here though, i shouldnt have any brighness in a black screen, the screen is dark grey with banding during credits on movies where on my XG with internal MOOME its black.

Nash, black boost is a different switch to the 0-255/16-235 switch.
