Ok...1.78 aspect ratio input, and I want a 2.35 or 2.4 aspect ration output as that is my screen ratio.
But, when I do this, the picture shrinks!
All I want to do is active area scanning for 720p. So, something like 1280x544p. I think this little Barco would benefit from the breathing room bandwidth wise.
I may also tweak it down to 47.95Hz via Genlock...to ease the burden even more.
Has anyone implemented this successfully? Do I need to input a complete timing to make it work?
Also, if using dvd player, do I set the pedestal at 7.5?
Blu-ray pedestal at 0ire?
Thanks in advance!
Ben

Thanks Nash...I'll try it tonight.
What about pedestal 0 vs 7.5. I was always under the impression that a dvd player should be 7.5 and blu-ray player was 0.

Zoom...of course! ANd it's clearly written in the manual, and I missed it!
I'm trying to get 1280x544 at 47.95Hz from an input of 1080p24 using Genlock.
How might I do it...the timings never look right when I make a change.
When I input 47.95Hz, I noticed the Htot number when much higher...so I had huge bars on each side of the raster.
Is there a course of action I should take? Order of operations?

you need to put the timings you like, and dont touch the V rate..
What you do is calculate the pixel clock.
48/ 1,001 x H total x V total, then you get the pixel clock, enter that , and your V rate will change to the right one.

I kinda follow you there.....but not quite.
Should I go back and start with a stock 720p, and then try to put it all in under custom timings?

Select the resolution closest to what you need, and change it for your need.
You can change it to anything you desire if you use custom 0-7
What kind of display are you using.?
Im not quite sure what your trying to do.. but i guess you are douing a 720P output zooming the input source to fit the screen.
If so just use the standard 720P and change the pixel clock to fit to the framrate you like.

yes...and I want something like
1280x584 which is a 2.2 aspect ratio...at 47.95Hz. This would be genlocked from a 1080p/24 input.
