I know that, but I also know that the NEC's input are already AC coupled. Wink

"The quad decoder card is under the metal cover, closest to the back of the set, right in front of the rear panel. That metal cover covers 3 PC boards. If the slot closest to the back of the set, you do not have a quad decoder installed. It was optional with the 6PG sets, but did come with the 9PG sets. I do have a bunch here." ..

No, the PS1 output is really 240P!

Not always, depends on the game, its always 15.7kHz, but can also be a higher resolution in an interlaced format.

5 min searching in the google gave the attached picture. Connect the red/green/blue signals to the projector with a proper 75 Ohm cable and you're ready for 240P at the lowest additional cost!

that looks easy, but this is for the ps2..,?

You will need the sync circuit as well, cause the NEC wont take the composite video as sync.

Either one will work, just build the circuit as i posted it there.

Because the Playstation usually uses a CXA1645 but doesnt have the sync output connected to the AV socket, you will take the composite video as sync, which in my experience the NEC wont lock to when connected to the sync line. With that circuit, it should sync up fine.

Funnilly enough, the Sega Saturn and NEO-GEO CD also use the CXA1645, and the japan version of the saturn will work without the circuit added, ive never got the others to do so.

Just throwing this one out there. I picked up The Walking Dead gun game. The signal wasn't hot enough for the Sony D50 I have here. It resulted in a dark streaky picture. When using the Sony's composite input.

I also picked up 4 Extron boxes recently. Two of which are Quad decoders. An Extron CD 900 ( about $35 bucks on eBay ) and an Extron QSD 204 ( about $40-50 on eBay ) The CD 900 is an older design. Not too bad and did fix the dark picture issue.
The QSD 204 really shines. It also has vertical shift which the CD900 does not. The '204 had a better over all picture.

The QSD 204 fixed the low signal problem and allowed me to move the picture vertically as well, within the raster, resulting in some good lookin' game play.

Too bad the new crop of gun games is no where near accurate.

EDIT: forgot to add, the QSD 204 will also output component YCbCr 480i/576i so this could come in handy for RPTV users. You would also be able to use any aspect ratio controls that the TV has in it.

It's one of those stand alone plug into the TV games:

I'm going to have another stab at it now that I have the Quad decoder box. Last time I tried my PS2 with a line doubler into the D50. Time Crysis recognized that it was 480p but the guns didn't work that well.

Use it without the line doubler, it should be in 480i anyway on that game.

Yeah, I realized that but the PS2 was a little hit or miss on the composite input of the D50. Hence the reason I ran it through the line doubler. Now with the Quad decoder I can run it 480i.
