yeah, i did just as you said.
to be precisely i did
ps pin11 to Pin 1 vga RED Red video
ps pin12 to Pin 2 vga GREEN Green video
ps pin 9 to Pin 3 vga BLUE Blue video
...oh, wait , i think i did ps colour pin to -220u to vga pin instead of ps colour pin to +220u to vga pin... me stupid..
what would i do without you here..
to be continued..
...that wasnt the problem.( so i continue:
ps pin11 to 220u to vga Pin 1 RED Red video
ps pin12 to 220u to vga Pin 2 GREEN Green video
ps pin9 to 220u to vga Pin 3 BLUE Blue video
ps pin6 to chip pin 2
ps pin10 to chip pin8
ps pin8 to chip pin4
ps pin8 to vga Pin 10 GND Ground (VSync, DDC)
than
chip pin 1 to vga pin 13 HSync Horizontal sync
chip pin 3 to vga pin 14 VSync Vertical sync
chip pin 6 to 680k ohm resistor and a 0.1uF ceramic cap in parallel to chip pin4 aka ground
the vga rest which i left unconnected:
q
Pin 4 ID2/RES formerly Monitor ID bit 2, reserved since E-DDC
Pin 5 GND Ground (HSync)
Pin 6 RED_RTN Red return
Pin 7 GREEN_RTN Green return
Pin 8 BLUE_RTN Blue return
Pin 9 KEY/PWR formerly key, now +5V DC
Pin 11 ID0/RES formerly Monitor ID bit 0, reserved since E-DDC
Pin 12 ID1/SDA formerly Monitor ID bit 1, I²C data since DDC2
Pin 15 ID3/SCL formerly Monitor ID bit 3, I²C clock since DDC2

Its not the colours. Its in the sync, just connect H sync and see if it works.

After 7 pages of struggle (and not yet finished), it really would have been better if you had bought a decoder board...

Is that your expert opinion from experience is it? You may just find it probably would not have worked without modification anyway. But hey, what would i know, ive only been playing consoles on a plain PG for 6 years!!
Firstly it wouldve cost more to get less, then still not always work as it should.
Secondly, if he did what was suggested it wouldve been done. Long ago. Instead, advice was ignored, and the results speak loud and clear for themselves.

Why oh why would you need composite video to watch TV? Ive never seen a TV decoder box that didnt have at least RGB out, if not HDMI as well. The decoder board inside the projector gives you composite and s-video only. Thats it. No TV, its basically useless unless you want to use a VCR and have no scaler.
Ive got a few of those boards here, i will GIVE you one for the cost of shipping. I wouldnt feel right charging you money for an item like this.

Unplug the v-sync, just connect the h-sync. It may or may not help. If it doesnt, refer below.
For a minute there i thought i was being employed to help you here Be thankful for the FREE advice you get, and look back a few pages where i told you what cables to purchase, which in my experience is a certain fix. Its known by me to work.
The reason im in no great rush to just drop everything and go over your post above to see where the issue may lie is cause last time i gave you straight up honest advice on what to purchase and which way to go to get results, you failed to follow that suggestion. I warned you it could cause you trouble, and it seems to have done that. So i kinda feel as though maybe i can do something easier with my time.
Im happy to help, but if you choose a different path to that which i suggest and you get stuck, well im sure you know what im saying

unpluggin vsync doesnt help or change anything. same good picture no stable input. to set the gnd from vga 10 to 5 or 10 and 5 also doesnt help, nor to set the hsync from vga 13 to 5... nothing.
i f*ck*** hate it
and yeah, i will buy the other cable, but i f*cking hate that too as a cable is a cable is cable and the same for it strings in my world...
cheers

Yes i know you may see it as a cable, and yes they tend to be created reasonably equally, but sometimes they are not.
How are the capacitors on your DEF board?

Sony D50 STILL wants a hotter signal and I don't have the correct cable for the Extron box on hand to boost it. I sorta got an OK signal from the PS3 when I set the D50 to YPbPr!
Not completely usable though.
I'll play with this more later. I wonder if his 6pg needs a hotter signal too?

No, that was only for the sync signals, that doesn't really affect picture brightness...
