That font is called ITC Blair. It's $29 to buy, but here it is with a free version. Get me the size of the Marquee lid and the overall target size for the logo.

I can get both tomorrow and post them as I have a spare top for now till I ship the parts its with
I would use my marquee case but the vidikron case is all black with no lettering at all

I wont be needing the 29$ version I went with 2 others I already have and just finished the logo tonight. Doing the measurement at the moment, but to tiered to make that happen now so that will be tonight.
Btw, I will dress the whole projector in brushed dark gray aluminium (on my own). Found it on ebay in the UK. It will look super If I can pull that off. Watched some how-to-videos so think I can do it.
So with that said, I would need a dual layer vinyl, with the base first and then a see though with the text on top. I don't know how that will affect the matte finish of the base. Will get back to you on that with a PM about the small issues about it.
Though I saw a video on how to dress vinyl with a layer of only letters, that I want to do, need to look into that further and you be the judge if it's possible.

Just remember to spray in even strokes, light coat and wait for it to dry before recoat or itll wrinkle. No stopping or turning, paint past the ends, and hold the can upright at the correct distance from the job

Also I was wondering if the plastic around the tubes could be done in clear plastic also
Having as much visible would be a nice touch
Heck I would even do a clear panel for the front below the tubes

I appreciate those numbers. Thanks. On my logo that came up with, I made the lettering quite big, as there are so much empty spaces and only a 3 rows of text, and should fill the width of the small air holes. It's about 46,5 cm in width and about 15 cm in hight total.

In that video you linked to, that clear tape is just "transfer tape". It's only temporary. Once the letters are applied, you peel the transfer tape off and leave only the letters behind.
This video shows how to apply vinyl lettering:

So, in your case, you'd apply the large sheet of brushed metal vinyl, then you'd apply the lettering over the top.

Not really. They're a very niche item, and your attitude about it is a good illustration of why. Type designers often spend months - hundreds of hours - creating a single typeface with all the standard characters and special characters... Well over 100 separate glyphs in a single font of a single typeface family. They toil over the tiniest of details, then people balk when they want $30 to buy the typeface.
Type is like stock photography. A good commercial designer will spend thousands on them over the years. It's just another tool.

That's the way to go. I could send you the draft I came up with in a few hours, with the exact positioning and so on. I'll provide the used fonts and links where to find it if you don'y have them. I just realized the factory size will look to small so will go slightly bigger. I appreciate anyone's help and input though.

E home must have changed the location of the letters on the newer sets but that sounds like a good spot

Basically the measurement are Hight 74 cm by Width 61,6 cm. That will include enough material to fold underneath the lid.
