Hello excuse me for my English quality. I'm French.
I have a Sony VPH 1292 since 6 months. It has 2600 hours.

For some time it is down. When I turn it on, it makes me for half a second a 08 error, then it switches to error 02 and goes off.
Error 08-> V-Stop
Error 02-> H-Stop 115V

Down in searching on the forum, it would come from the E Board. But which component? This failure happens often, it must often be the same component to change.

Thanks for your help

Could be anywhere on that board.

Bad cable or need to be resoldered on some parts

The problem with this board is that it's heavy and every time its lifted could bend it a bit, causing the problem

Try looking at the board for cracked solder joints and retouch them.

Is this a problem on EA give the same error code ? I have a doubt on this card, as there a few months ago , glycol sank it. ( leak on the red CRT)

Another board can generate a code 02

If the first error to appear is the Error 08, the problem could be in the E board. The '02' is consequence of the turning off process

If displays only Error 02, then you can check other boards

Did you check visual where the glycol get into the board?

Thank you for your answers.

Glycol flowed across the power supply output by the fans.
But it worked perfectly for the repairs.

I test this we 115V on the EA board, and if I have it re-opens the power supply.

Rolling Eyes

I tested the EA Board yesterday. All voltages are there.
The 115V comes well on E Board. In the instructions , it says that the IC115 is the detection of 115V.
This may be causing him problems or the signal after this component.

Is there a way to temporarily bypass this error?

I think your best bet is send the card to curt, so he can check it for you.

Trying to bypass errors can cause more damage.

I agree, and not just to get your repair. You need to put any suspected boards into another working 1292, and I've got that.

I'm back in Vancouver as of next Sunday night, I've extended this trip by a day, and can receive and ship parts any time after that.

Thank you for the proposal.
I'm new to the forum but it makes long as I know that you can fix this type of projector.
I prefer tried repairing me even this projector. If I can not, I would call a your services.

What do you think of IC115 ? When you leave again E-Board , how often defective component ?
If you have other tests done to me , do not hesitate.

For shunting, it would only be for a few seconds, the target fault. No way to use it without security

I do not give out component level service information, sorry! also, if you make the problem worse on the board by trying to repair it yourself, my repair rates go up, as now I have to repair multiple problems caused by human interference. I would not recommend continuing repairing this yourself. Bypassing safety features on boards can spot burn your tubes instantly.

I 'm not stupid , I know the risks to the tubes.
You can disconnect the tubes to test the card. If I can not find help here I will find himself in studying the plans.
And if I can not find the fault I find a used board.

For information I paid € 400 projector. And I found a set of CRT 50 € ( 2000H )
