Yeah it wasnt cheap back then, by 2002-03 the best gaming performance option was the Athlon Thoroughbred for the socket 462, followed up not long after by the Barton. I built alot of those using the SOLTEK Gold Flame nforce2 mobos, flogging all but the top end 800FSB Intels... The 533FSB never stood a chance... I had a Barton 3200 that i had running at 2.52GHz on air cooling, solid as a rock for years.... Still got a 2600 Thoroughbred here somewhere, dead caps killed it like all those kick arse SOLTEKs from that era...

Ahhh yes the bad caps from the 2 dopes in Taiwan. Man those wrecked allot of PC's including my Celeron 300 OC'd to 503. I plugged it in one night and the power supply blew and took the whole dam thing with it. Lousy caps. The floppy drive was the sole survivor.

I feel your pain there I lost a motherboard like that and a really great processor (other stuff wasn't affected as it was on the motherboard (correction two motherboards)

Um been busy breaking in brand new lc tubes in my marquee Smile pure crt bliss now that I have two 9inch sets (one with mint tubes and one with 9 condition tubes) love not having to see halos around bight objects on a black background all in all a awesome gaming projector(and I have another marquee chassis so I can get more 9inch tubes and maybe do a blend or stack if I wanted)

I can't wait to get the nec up and running to see how it stacks up to my marquee(I got a friend who works on tvs to set the g2 back to factory man did he have a time figuring it out Smile but that's back to normal)once what board I need is either fixed or replaced I am going to setup a second screen even if I have to make room for it(I am going to enjoy that nec if its the last thing I do Wink)

As far as my media machine build goes I haven't started(YET) but I have other things to get to first(one is restoring a 79 Chrysler cordoba)but I think i will pull out all stops and go full kilt this time and build the one machine the can run both windows and Mac OS(yes I can do that)and make it as close to being dead silent as I can(I know I like to think outside the box at times but its worth it)

Don't have it as I have a different bench test method(though I think I lost it when I had a hard drive failure in my portable HD)

Also I have to work on other computers besides mine(if I only worked on mine I would lose business and that's not good)
