That's all the beside the point, though. What I took issue with was Case's implication that a console is just for ignorant people, which is bull****.
Not everybody wants a damn PC in their theater, along with all the crap that entails - myself included. Some people want simple hardware which requires no maintenance beyond clicking the "yes" button once in awhile. Some want the "sofa" experience, with wireless controllers. Some want the online support for a variety of games - that their friends are playing. Some want the exclusives, some want something much lower-cost than a PC.
Some game on consoles, some on PC, and some on both. But, most people are using consoles for very specific reasons just like the PC gamers do so for specific reasons, myself included. The idea that consoles are for dummies is BS.

You hit the nail on the head there
I have a media machine planned for my home theater but haven't got around to building it yet but a simple setup is one plus for a set top box or console |
I fixed the issue by buying 3 PS3's One still has Linux compatibility, 2 have been updated and I also have a HTPC too. More stuff the better!

That's what i am getting ready to do is get a second ps3 to have as a backup for my current ps3 but I think I will keep my fat ps3 with the Linux capability
Then I am going to replace my HDTV set top box with a htpc so I have dvr capability for my home theater

Yeah, I know guys, I really know. Nobody feels as bad as I do right now. But it was a monster, totally out of proportions for my home, and as I mentioned earlier noone wanted it, even as 'working'. So what was I to do?
Yes, I think it deserves a silent minute. Thanks Rocks.

That is awesome! you live like Obi Wan Kenobi! And solar panels everywhere. That is in deed a cool way of living, many thanks for your pictures.
You manage only on solar power, or you also have additional electical cables from a power plant?

He would have to have power from the power company at night as solar only would create a blackout at night

Alright, thanks. But I thought that solar power charged some sort of batteries under ground, to store the power untill you need it, like in the evening.

Not on all setups but case would have to post for us to be sure
Though a battery back-up setup would be expensive due to battery maintenance (trust me I know how that by ups units for computers)
