Hi Pros, I got another problem now.
Yesterday, I did a mechanical setup on my 801s, meaning that I refixed the screws on
the lenses and CRTs itself (the screws that hold the CRTs in the chassis).
I did some Scheimflug adjustment - and because my proj does not have Scheimflug screws anymore,
it did it with spacers between the CRTs and lenses.
I readjusted the convergence, played with the sharpness pots
... and for the odd reason to reach the screws under the CRTs I opend the front end and pulled the board out some inches.
I I put it back in and fastened the screws again when I remembered that you can't remove that "drawer" without
dismounting the HV splitter. Shure, the projector was powered off during this.
So far, nothing special..
But after that, watching a movie, some strange stripes appeared.
Horizontal stripes, 1 pixel thick, sometimes thicker, not over the whole width of the screen.
I tried heating and cooling of various boards, even changed the horizontal deflection board (R7622675).

Now my questions are: My Graphics 801s has an SMPS numbered R7622935. I have a R7621706 SMPS from an 808 here.
Does somebodsy know if it fits in my 801s without destroying anything?

Any other ideas? Shut i try the V-Board?

Here's a video showing the stripes. Try to ignore the camera flickering Smile
The problem is best visible at 0:10.

Best regards, Julian

Check the +17 volt test point on the SMPS. It may be too high or too low.

Hey Curt, I checked that this afternoon and now again. Both measurements say 17,2V.
Oh now the blue tube wend dark but I immediately found the issue: the cables from the motherboard to
the blue Output Amp had a loose contact. Bad.. because it seems to be soldered to the mainboard.
I'm looking to fix it. The horizontal lines are gone for now, but maybe they reapper when the proj. has warmed up.
Just started it 10min ago.
