I once had a ThermalTake Xaser3 full tower with 16x 80mm case fans in it, the fan noise from these is nothing. Wink

I know what you mean there Smile I work on computers and recently got a server grade case(less fans of corse) but at full rpm on all fans it would be loud(no I don't have thermaltake fans in it yet)

My media pc has a 120mm thermaltake fan and that sucker is dead slient and I am not running it at its lowest rpm either(I also have another 120mm corsair fan for the liquid cooling unit I have on the processor buts nots as quiet as the thermaltake)

Ps the fans in my server case are zelman fans(really noisey)

You mean Zalman.

The fans i had were all Sunon, some were 7000rpm, all were 80mm.

Antec fans are the only ones worth a look now.

antec fans are terrible. and no thermatake is quiet if its moving air.

there are dozens of better options out there, go to places like silentpcreview.com if you want to know more---

i have tried literally hundreds of fans. i build 2-3 computers a week as a hobby.

I used to build alot more than 2-3 a week, and Antec fans are brilliant. So are their power supplies. So are their cases.

Antec fans really are not the best price/performance, sound/performance, .... fans on the market. You really should check silentpcreview and the reviews on that site (great community deticated to building quiet or very efficient machines)

Have you tried the no compromise iscg fans I have the 120mm version and its dead silent all I hear from mine is the air it moves I have a corsair fan of the same size(in the same machine) and unless its at its lowest speed I hear it but I can't always have it running like that as it is my CPU cooler fan(liquid cooled setup)

FYI the server case I have is a antec the power supply fan is the quietest in the whole bunch

I like NMB fans and seasonic power supplies. The GOOD ones. not the $29 ones.

I scored a bunch of NMB fans on closeout years ago. Super quiet, I stuffed them into just about everything. All of them still run fine.

i like their cases. power supplies are not really done by them, some are good some are not. fans are not.

i only build superquiet custom pc´s for friends and acquantainces. yes I also built a lot more between 1999-2005 but now just for ppl who are prepared to pay for quality.

antec fans are fine for regular user, for a demanding one they are not. at least none which i have tried. maybe they have a new one that is great that i havent tried but i doubt it.

I agree with you on the nmb fans my marquee has those other then the low voltage power supply its barely audibly(have to do the fan mod)

I have a load of Antec fans here that are silent, the ones that come in a Nine Hundred Two or Twelve Hundred case are not quiet, but i removed those and put in what was at the time their top end fan. Exceptional, even after 5 years.

NMB fans are great, although never sold at the place i buy computer parts.

I dont bother with cheap computer parts, i generally stick with what i consider to be the best regardless of cost. The only item ive had fail in the past 10 years apart from every single SOLTEK Gold Flame socket 462 mobo dying from faulty caps ( they were all well out of my 5 year warranty when they failed, and every one of the died the same ) is an Intel 1366 CPU.

Case I have had fans from antec that are sligent but the case I have is a antec but it didn't have antec fans in it( power supply does as it is a antec and is noiseless)

Don't get me started on dying computer motherboards I have had my fair share of them Smile unfortantly most people just want a replacement and not have the old board recapped as it takes less time(bs if you ask me)

Over the years I have gotten to where I can swap out computer parts with my eyes closed if I wanted to but I don't as I know if I did I would make a mistake

My Ecp has nmb(I think but will check tomorrow to be sure) my marquee has nmb for sure( have to see on my 10pg but minus the power supply fans that beast is drop dead silent(I know as I bench tested the with a isolation power supply mounted in the set tricky but it worked)

Seems NMB - Delta - Sanyo fans are found in a lot of industrial machines!

@the big E - Should do decide to do a partout let me know! I might be interrested in the tubes, LC housings and lenses to create a Nec BG810 Smile

I would never recap a computer mobo, what a waste of time it would be considering how cheap and easy they are to replace with something much better!!

I doubt youll get the NEC tubes working in a Barco without alot of effort!!

The huge ovens i work on (Rational combi steamer ovens) used to have NMB, Sunon, or PAPST fans, depending on the model etc, but now they seem to use cheap s*** in there.

Ive never had a PAPST fail yet in one of those, had a SIEMENS circuit board blow a hole in its self earlier in the week...

I am unlikely to part with the tubes unless a really good offer was made as they look near mint(9's on all three/maybe 8 on the green) and the hour meter had less then 2k hours on it when I got it
The lens if I could get a trade for the HD-10gt lens I might think about that but right now they stay in the set as I am in works of getting a replacement gain board( going to have it tested before curt ships it)

If in the future I decide to sell the set it will most likely be as a whole unless a certain part failed that I couldn't replace or repair(going to have to replace a part or two on my Ecp soon)

Also like case said putting nec tubes in a set other then a nec would be a lot of work

That would be a must see

I get two of the four fans I ordered tomorrow and will update when I get them(most likely it will be late in the day as ups has got me at the end of the route and it sucks)

Yep and hopefully get the beast in a position to where I wouldn't mind it taking up space now it just sits there(not used and gets stuff piled on it because of that)

I wonder how long I can get the tubes to last before I just give up and retire it from service(provided something doesn't fail beforehand)
