No joke, all three tubes looked like this from the set that was stored in a garage for 10+ years. The discoloration came from the rubber washers that went all soft in the fill holes at the top of the tubes... or that's what I figure. Each tube was under massive pressure, although the green tube somehow vented and dumped glycol into the set. Strangely, once it vented, the bellows were just fine.

Wow. So something leached out of the washers and/or bellows and turned the glycol brown. Interesting.

One thing... It does illustrate perfectly why you can't tint the coolant in an LC chamber for color filtering.

Yes and yes. Like some reel to reel drive belts, there was only goo left in the rubber. I cleaned them all up, changed the bellows in the red and blue tubes as they ripped as I was removing the C element (green remained intact and leak free), and am checking them for leaks now for 24 hours at 1/4 amount of glycol before I fill them completely.

Curt I am going the same thing on the vision 3 I got from mike should I vent the other tubes while I have the machine apart?
