As a completely outside observer who has no knowledge of either end of things (aside from what little is in this thread), this was only between two people as long as it remained off the forums. If you're going to have a public airing of grievances, any expectation that the matter remain a private matter is unreasonable. Cliff's very public - and petulant - reply to Craig was begging for commentary. He did what he did publicly because he wanted a public reaction. If he wanted it to stay private, he would have limited his negative commentary to private channels.

My point exactly.

If he was doing all he could to make it up to him for his attitude in previous times, statements towards him such as a few seen in this thread are completely the opposite of that.

Did you stop to think that it wasn't attitude in the first place? Did you stop to think that you need to actually take a step back, take a deep breath and try to understand what is happening here instead of acting the way YOU are?

Spanky, i dont see why you would make a post that condones his attitude in this thread, amongst others. Im sure you find it as inappropriate as i do.

Knowing both sides or not, his actions here are nothing short of childish, and im having a crack at him primarily for that more so than getting involved in a dispute.

Problems or not, to resort to an act as seen here, as well as in past threads where anyone that has been here long enough could easily read between the lines as to what was going on, is pathetic. Sure must be a big tough man...

Did I condone anything? I was trying to politely tell you to let it go, as it is between Craig and Cliff. This is Craig's thread and I didn't want to thread crap.

I have no idea who has contacted you, but I have spoken to both in person. When I was at Cliff's last year, he explained to both Curt and me his actions and how sorry he was. Unless he is a very good actor, I could tell he was very upset by his actions towards Craig. Cliff had nothing but kind words and praise for Craig. I even made a snide comment about Craig (before I had met him) and Cliff quickly corrected me.

The next day I talked to Craig about it. I told him how Cliff was really upset about his actions. Craig gave me his take on the situation.

At the end of the day, both men are adults and have to live with their actions and decisions. I understand both sides and if Craig wants nothing to do with Cliff then that is his decision.

You say Cliff is being childish, but I see him as trying anything to make amends for his previous behavior.

Since you said other people have contacted you, I made this post in hopes that you and others will LET THIS GO. There is a reason that those who have met and know both haven't commented, as once again It is between Cliff and Craig. I like both of them and I am sure Craig is hoping this topic will die.

I have never said this, but maybe this thread needs to be closed.

I agree 100% and thank you. I sent a PM to Curt letting him know.

It's very hard for me sometimes to make what I consider "sensible posts" and this was the most in this thread.

Again thanks. Smile

Agreed.

Big dog, I can just nuke this whole thread if you want. I don't think it's doing anybody any good at this point, and I can't imagine Craig caring, either.

Thank you man for taking the time to type this, I 100% agree with you on everything you've said here.

You would have to know the two people involved to understand why this has not been an issue outside of two really top flight individuals not seeing eye to eye on something. And if you knew them both, no way could you say either had character issues.

Could Cliff had handled things different, maybe so. But Cliff is Cliff, and his friends or those who have come to really know him also know his heart (his passion for the hobby) and that's why we don't magnify his imperfections, because we all may even feel what he will actually say.

sometimes it s best to delete a thread, especially when it can cast someone to be something other than what they really are..

Mike i do apologise if i have offended you in any way here, however i am not merely taking one side or another at all, what i am saying is that to have posted what he did in an open forum he was asking for trouble, and i call that open season. He may very well be a top bloke, but top blokes dont just start a rant in someone's thread cause they didnt get the response they were after. Its unprofessional.

Cliff i also apologise to you for saying the things i said. I may very well have been out of line with some of it, and although mine may have been no better, i still dont believe your actions in this thread were appropriate.

In the interest of moving on from it, i too agree that the thread should be cleaned up or removed altogether.

I don't think the thread really serves any significant useful purpose at this point, so I think removal would probably be most appropriate at this point. But, since it's Craig's thread, I PM'd him to get his thumbs-up first.
