Its simply incredible. No triangles, just perfect round dots across the entire screen....

No i turned it off, i just watch a movie before i make final adjustments. By then its warmed up enough to be ready for adjusting.

The astig is better on the Barco no doubt, although the convergence system is not even close to the standard of NEC, and youre only kidding yourself if you think it is. The adjustment is not as fine on the Barco, the zones on the NEC are much smaller, and there is loads more of them. Overall, if one were to compare Cine 8 against an XG as a fair comparison of apples to apples, the XG would EASILY blow it away.

LoL the Cine9 could give him a handjob and he'd still have a soft spot for the NEC .... Though I think the Barco is starting to grow on him!!!
I cant wait to see it!! , Aiming for Christmas break
Damian are you referring to the 20 minute white screen??? I let my cine7 go through that procedure lately as i find i'm always getting a much better behaved little barco...

Its not so much a soft spot, the NECs are better when compared to equal sets.

True on that my 10pg has a great convergence system
I am going to feel like I have less control of the picture on my other projector(s) when I get it running
My nec has a awesome picture and I can't wait to get it back to working

With comments like that im not so sure he'll be rushing out to help you at all now
MX there have been a few people in the past complain about the complexity of NECs setup, but it is considerably easier to get it perfect with such a comprehensive system that has such fine adjustments then it is to get right with a system where one touch of the button moves the red from one side of the green to the other, and with zones so big you have issues if the surface is not dead flat.

Yeah to the point where i give up a little focus on the astig rings to nudge the pic over a little to allow the convergence to line up a little better (did that make sense remember im pretty new)

I was refering that he doesn't want to support nec now I didn't mean to be mean and didn't mean to sound that way(if it sounded like I was)
I ain't going to complain about the nec setup just a bit daunting for a first time owner(like me) but I soon got it down pat(the point convergence was what made me a bit uneasy for the first time as I never expected the 100 points of adjustment)
I have been having a rough week so I may make mistakes (can't wait till this weekend for some r&r)

With the NEC you only have to do it once, then only size and minor touchups for every other source.

I agree I really didn't have to use the point convergence much(most likely due to the failing caps on the gain board) but when a set is working right(mine isn't right now) the point is not used as much
Like case said its only minor touch ups for each source

Not true, gain board got nothing to do with point or any other convergence. Use of point is the only way to get it perfect, the procedure goes green geometry then touch up with green point, red and blue geometry follwed by red and blue point.
