I think my low voltage power supply died yesterday. It has been acting up lately by just clicking and not starting. I have tapped it a couple of times which usually brought it back up but now it will not start the PJ and will not give me lights of any kind. I put a power supply from an XG75 in to see what would happen, it starts but shuts down after 10 seconds or so. I guess they are not interchangeable. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix, bad relay contacts or something?? Maybe a component from the other power supply can be transferred over to the XG85 unit? If not I guess I need to decide whether it's worth finding another power supply.

Thanks,
Larry

I've got them at $200 incl shipping. I need to know whether it's a 6119A or 6119U. As you see, they are not interchangable.

It's a 6119A. The one out of the XG75 is a 6119U. Do you have any green tubes that are in decent shape as well Curt?

I'm not sure what you are saying ZXH398. Is it that the CRT board may have caused the powersupply to go out or something else?

Curt, you mean you can't buy new green tubes for Xg's anymore? if that's the case I guess the writing is really on the wall now.

Correct.. I've had one perfect green tube in for the XG in the last 5 years, and that was in a new old stock set that I found 3 months ago. If the tube is badly worn, I'd retire it.

Cheers!

Nope, VDC shut down their production line about 18 months ago. I think I can get them out of China, but they'd be about the same price as a 9" tube- $1200-1300.

I mean CRT sockets may cause power protection board shorts, all XG power can be directly interchangeable. Another focus converging plate or board shorts also cause power protection
