This is the second Barco RP set I've had. THe first one blew up in spectacular fashion about 7 years ago when leaking glycol hit the motherboard. eBay purchases. Smile $500 for each one.

Yeah, the HT room is next on the list to renovate, after the kitchen and backyard renos. I may re-glycol the RP set this weekend though, the green haze is annoying...

Don't forget to clean the set while your in there most I have seen just need the dust cleaned out(I know it sounds crazy)

The samsung I have needs fresh glycol(its yellowed Shocked ) so now I have to flush and fill the green and blue tube in the set(the fluid I drained from the red tube when I replaced was yellow almost a dark yellowish color)

Its just finding the time to pull the other tubes and do the flush and fill on them(teadious work given how samsung routed the wiring)
I have been planing on making a catch to put below the tubes to prevent damage to the boards should the tubes leak(samsung has been bad for that) and parts for it is not easy to get ahold of Sad so I am going to do any preventive measures to make it last

Priorities, Jay.

Not that I don't miss the CRT, but I am now at 60 hours total on the Epson.

Tells you something.

Priorities.

Marc

I totally understand that! Smile I have actually put a few hundred hours on the PG10 although it came down last week and is currently back in storage while I look for a new place :/ I still need to look at the boards and possibly re-cap some of them.

Also OT Marc I need to buy one of your Sony mini preview monitor still
so I can use it for color correction in my editing bay.

No more CRT monitors from me. I no longer keep any since the demand died.
Your best bet is to find one and then have it checked and re-calibrated.

What was the model of those Sony 13in? I will try to find one online I guess! I am not happy with the color on my LED computer screens for video editing.

There's a PVM-8044Q 8" monitor that has been listed for a while that claims to have a "super fine pitch" tube.

The 45watts power consumption for a color CRT seems remarkable.

Thanks!

I will check that out. My assistant lives close to that. That may work out perfectly.

Properly aligned, yes, that's a great little monitor. A bit small for color correction, though.

I've rebuilt so many of those.....

I still use my BVM-1311. Now THAT is one brick of a monitor. Ultra sharp tube, all CPU control, stores multiple setups.
But most need a re-cap to function right. Many of the little pvm's do too.

Today there's a larger PVM-14M2U closer to Jay:

The 14m2u is a solid choice, but does need certain caps replaced. Not a big job, though. The M2U has a slightly lower resolution CRT than an M4U, but does not suffer from heater to cathode shorts like the M4U tubes.

Jay, if you get a good M2U, I can do the caps and alignments on it to bring it back to spec.
