Have a 6 year old (?) X-Rite DTP-94 used for computer monitor calibration. Looking to calibrate front projector in HT (Sony VPL-HW50ES). Should I upgrade to PRO and buy the Chromapure software for about $330 ($150+180) or get the Eye One Display 3 with Chromapure for $419? Will the difference be worth $90? How about the Display 2 with the Color HCFR software? Other recommendations? Thanks for any advice!

Thanks for the advice. Can the Display 3 PRO be used with basICColor to calibrate a Mac display?

The Display 3 and Display 3 PRO meter are the same physical meter. The "PRO" version includes software based lookup tables for 10+ display types to make the meter more accurate when using ChromaPure. When using any other software (includic basICColor) the increased accuracy does not work as the other software doesn't know how to read/use these software lookup tables.
The increased accuracy is done via software to ensure that the meter can be used with other software as usually changes to the meter itself means it no works with any other software other than the one it was originally sold with.
More information on the "PRO" feature here: http://www.curtpalme.com/ChromaPure_EyeOneDisplay3.shtm
See the section called "What is the EyeOne Display 3 PRO?".
