|
|
Hello to Australia from the other side of the globe!
I found an auction where a Marquee should be included. The company is known for years in VR applications, and uses prof. equipment for their products. I am not certain what device is offered in the auction, but they used CRTs when possible. Sadly these never show up in Europe - so probably someone from the forum is close.

What about a sticky thread where crt findings from the woldwide web are posted. They are mostly local only, and kind of risky - but can be fun and cheap. I get tons of mails from programmed searches every day, and I am sure you addicts get some too. So posted in a sticky thread could help that CRT stuff is not dumped as much as it is now, because locals do not know what is in their area.
Regards
Marc

Guys
Could be an Immersadesk. That would have an 8500 with P43 in it.

It's still at 99cents
I've posted the seller a couple of questions, if he answers and I can get some sort of read on what is inside, i might risk it and spend this weekend on driving down to see it.

I am tempted.
No reply from the seller, so it is all a big unknown, and quite a drive.
If i at least knew he was ok to hold onto it for a couple of weeks while i got organised i reckon i would go for it, just for sh*t and giggles.

Ok so I took a gamble and bid on it as the guy is quite local to me and won it for 99c so hopefully a good buy... I'm picking up tomorrow so I'll post some pics to get your input on things.... Hopefully if this machine is a keeper I'll be selling the rest of the units I have acquired as I'm getting bad

Back when I was working with Mechdyne/Fakespace, they were using both Barco and Marquees. Within months of each other, I was at two installs, one on the west coast with Christie 9500LC Ultras, and another on the east coast with 909's. As I recall, the engineers were liking the Marquees a little better because the Barco's were more finicky, but they needed the Barco for some major geometry warping they were doing to accommodate a large concave rear-projection setup. It was concave to the viewers, convex to the projector, so I think it was some wicked bow/pin they were doing to push the sides out and pull the corners in to make the image square.
I bet if it's an ImmersaDesk, it will be a Marquee, though.

Cant wait!!! i pick her up tomorrow!!! I read that if its a marquee its a 9500LC ultra if its a barco its a 909 how do u go wrong for 99c even if completely screwed parted out they are still worth good money and better still if usable i'll be going from a 7" ES AC to potentially a top of the line 9" EM LC!!!! super excited!!!
