Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted anything. I've been checking in from time to time, but not posting.
I was just hauling my old beast out to finally hang up, got everything all hooked up, the projector hung and... no image. My HD Fury doesn't have the blue light any more and it was in storage for about 2 years. Was going to see what they were worth on here, but I see this site doesn't support them. I went to the website and it seems they can't sell directly in North America anymore, but will ship from China to world wide. I'm assuming no blue light means it died from sitting around? Dunno.
Would you recommend I get one directly from them or is there another way to connect the video chain. How else can I go from HDMI out to 5BNC? It's been way too long and I'm going to have to re-learn. I'll be hooking up to the 9PG+ for now so I can hopefully get Nashou to help me with all the Marquee mods I have all the parts for.
I'd appreciate any advice. To pre-empt smarty pants remarks, No, I'm not going digital! lol Too much $$ invested to just call it quits.
Cheers,
Chris

Is it a Fury1 2 or 3?
I've got a couple of leftover Fury1 if you're interested. I can test one before shipping. Did you connect the power supply?

$50 for the Fury1, but I don't have a power supply for it. That's mandatory, but if someone has a bad Fury and has the power supply, it will work fine.

Hi Curt,
It's the original Fury 1. I did have the power supply plugged in (which has a red light on it that is working), but the blue light was absent this time. I'll go try it again and let you know. I didn't check to see if it was snug, so I guess basic trouble shooting is in order. For $50, I might grab one from you just so I have a spare... or maybe if I decide at some point to have 2 projectors running.
Give me a little bit. Putting the tireless monkey to bed...

Anyone know why it would die after sitting around unplugged for 18 mo? Never dropped, just stored for moving and it hasn't been out since.

Seeing how one tiny component put me out of commission I'd like to have a spare anyways. I'll look for a new power supply anyways. It'll help me diagnose if Curt get's me a working unit so I can see if it really is the unit or the power supply. I'd much rather it was the supply and have 2 working units.

I'd be surprised if the HD Fury just up and died sitting on the shelf. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but as I recall, the blue light just indicates HDMI handshake - not power-on... So, it could just be no HDMI handshake, which wouldn't exactly be a big surprise. Have you tried a different/longer/shorter HDMI cable? Have you tried a different source?

Hey Scott,
I have a diagram for how I had it set up before the marquee came along, so I thought it would be plug and play (well close enough to at least do the 3 setup routine that's recommended). The no blue light surprised me as I'd never seen it without the light on before and immediately thought that's what was wrong with it. I'll need to play around some more I think and make sure I don't have something else wrong. I do remember I was having a heck of a time with my stupid Pioneer VSX 1017TXV receiver before and it's HDMI (you mentioning handshake rings a bell as an issue with that particular model), but I thought I'd gotten past that. It's been so frikkin long I can't remember my solutions. I was very happy that the old 9PG+ powered right back up after being in storage for roughly 3 years though.
It's going to be an interesting while while I retrain myself. I can't believe how much I've forgotten in the year and a half they were in storage.
Cheers,
Chris

UPDATE:
So Scott and Jeremy take the prize. I never did resolve the handshake issue with my stupid receiver. I found some notes in my printed version of the setup guide which had a few additional notes on my setup. I ran it as Jeremy says above, instead of going through the receiver I had set sound to Optical out on PS3 and just ran sound to receiver. Blue light came on. The PS3 is set for 1080P as I used it on the Marquee last so need to change the settings on a TV first and correct the sound to optical and it will hopefully work. But at least I got a wavy image this time. Off to a good start.
Still taking the other Fury from Curt as a backup since they are now a rarer commodity and one day I might want to run 2 projectors so a 2nd unit would be good. That and who knows if the silly thing will crap out on me so I want a backup anyways.
Thanks for all the help guys. I can finally start the process of getting the PG+ up and running so I have something to watch while I start what will likely be difficult mods for me on the Marquee.
Cheers,
Chris

Cool, haha, now that you mention it you jogged my memory. I remember you having issues with your receiver.

Just like any half a$$ed technician I found a workaround as opposed to solution. lol I really wish I knew more on the technical side. I was really good until DOS went to windows and then I gave up. lol

You gave up too soon. I waited until Win98SE, held on to that for 10 years and finally bought WinXP. Interspersed with my 1994 Win 95 laptop. Bailed on the Win Vista ( AKA the Vista Virus )
and landed on Win7 on this free - found by the recycling bin - dual core laptop. All along, just hangin on the forum.
I miss DOS

I have Vista on my gaming desktop and love it. I got it late enough all the bugs were fixed. Funnily it's the least buggy version of Windows I've ever had. XP was the best for tweaking stuff though.
I ran DOS until I couldn't run games with it anymore. I miss it too. I still have a 486 DX2 66 that runs on dos for my really old games like Ultima 5 that I play from time to time.

Didn't get to tweak any last night. Will take the time to bring the ps3 back up to the TV so I can switch the settings and see if I can get to the part where I can hang the projector and start the setup process.

You think the final version was buggy you should have seen the bata version(I skipped going to vista as long as I could) but I beta tested windows vista and windows 7(microcrap really screwed 7 up after the beta it was like xp in almost every way but they didn't want it to be that stable so they screwed it up
FYI to the op I have issues with handshaking on my Sony recivier I got no audio because of it unless I set it to only do audio on the recivier itself
