Just simply hook it up to your TV. Easy to use too!
Wonder how many hours on it and if I could get it for only $4500??

You do know I was being sarcastic but the seller has no tube pics so I would pass on a sell like that if it was me

That projector is worth 150 bucks or so if its pristine, and that's if the owner throws in a restaurant gift card and helps you load it... On a good day.

It's not just fishy... The ad, the price, the description... The whole thing is beyond ridiculous. It's either somebody who is beyond clueless, or it's some dude hoping to rip somebody off. I'm guessing the former.

I have seen a few on eBay try this trick because they don't get the set evaluated
My ecp4101 won't pull the amount I paid for it if I ever sell it(not that I will and it working)

You paid extra for a set with warranty and support. That gives you peace of mind, you get a nice set that's been gone over, and you get to support Curt and the forum. You are correct you'll never get much of that money back, but that's fine. But, since you don't intend on selling the set anytime soon, it doesn't matter.

This craigslist posting has nothing to do with you or your ECP, though. They two aren't at all comparable. It's not even comparable to the ebay sellers who don't document the set and ask double or triple what the projector is worth - without tube photos.

A used 1252, even in mint condition, with pristine tubes, a clean case, a ceiling mount, and a spare remote isn't worth $200. Curt gets double that because of the warranty and support. He sells a refurbished machine. So, the seller is literally asking more than 25 times the used projector's value. Asking $500 or $1000 would be "trying a trick". Asking $5000 for a $250 projector indicates to me that the seller is mentally deficient.

That is true of corurse there is nuts out there that thinks stuff like this is still holding its value but crt projectors value is dropping heck I got a nec 10pg for 500 with little tube wear(yes I am getting a higher end set as I don't want to wear out my Ecp (got it from a member here on the forum
But the value of any projector drops as it ages I know as I have a optoma h27 it was 1200 new now it is under 400 resale in great shape and a new lamp(which mine shows signs of use and needs a new lamp)
But I am wanting to use my Ecp for another setup since I am at the limits of the lens focus for my screen(10foot diagonal)
