Loved the move!!!! Great story line. great cinematography, but DIGITAL sucks!!!!

Sorry, I really was hoping seeing it in Imax was going to be killer and change my mind about digital. I saw pixels and miss-convergence of the red channel.

The Sound was the best part of the experience. No Black level at all, very Grey and washed out details.

But having said that I can not wait for this to come out on BD so I can watch it in a superior Theater.....My Own ! Very Happy

Sorry, but this thing they're doing screening regular movies on IMAX screens is stupid, IMHO. The last one I saw was terrible. The experience was inferior to watching it in a regular theater, or even at home, so I'm not going back. It's pretty bad when the technology trailer/demo before the feature is the best part of the experience.

IMAX theaters should be reserved for screening moves shot on 70mm for presentation in IMAX theaters. Period.

It is not even that Steve. The last few times I watched movies and they were digital including the BenQ when Cliff was over the Blacks just don't do it for me. And Yes I have seen the JVC's at a high end shop here in Buffalo. Sure they look great for sharpness and colors but when it comes to Blacks to Shadow details I just don't like it.

I'm not sure your criticism is really that fair, though... Even with film, the blacks just aren't that great in a commercial theater.

I Love when IMAX is done in Film, Just love it , and those Blacks are much better than What I saw This past weekend.

But Between the convergence and the horrible Blacks there were other issues. I saw through out most of the movie
vertical bands of light or streaks. It was very noticeable , I tried to ignore everything and just enjoy this great movie but
the videophile in me just could not be quieted.

I wanted to tell the Manager but I was with my Nephews and didn't want to ruin the fun they had.

The last movie I saw there was not as bad. Something must have changed, or as steve said earlier this was because it was digital and not Film.

And the previews did not look better, they were not as a high resolution as the movie was, I could clearly tell.

But if you have not seen this movie go see it!!

I'll go again but to a smaller screen and give my impressions once again. Regal has to prove me wrong next time around.

No doubt about it. I'm certainly a fan. But, IMAX blacks are not CRT black.

But, I also tend to agree that IMAX screens are no place for digital. IMAX screens should show 70mm IMAX content from an IMAX projector and that's that.
