I'm chuckin three PJ's in the dumpster tomorrow at noon if nobody is there to take them away. I'm tossing a Runco 1100 (barco 1209s) with a couple boxes of spare boards, a DWIN HD700 and an 8500 that Curt has left here for three years. I have been trying to get this stuff out of my storage for several years.

I love the output of the Runco, the tubes have a lot of hours on them but they still look good. Curt saw it in operation three years ago. Crappy setup with no calibration at that time.

The remains would still have to end up in the dumpster so the idea is it goes away ASAP.

Not trying to be an ass, but you live in a large metro area within a couple hours' drive of one of the largest metro areas in the country... You could give somebody an actual week or two to plan schedule and travel and just throw away a couple of good machines.

I'm sure nobody gives two shits about the DWIN, but you can't tell me that if you got permission from Curt and put up a 'free' listing here, that the Runco and Marquee wouldn't both be spoken for inside of a week. Even the DWIN... Put a 'free for the taking' post on Craigslist, and it'll be gone in a day. If you care.

Sorry, but tossing it in the dumpster is just dumb.

It is really sad to see posts like this in a CRT forum, those pjs surely would have a value here in europe...

I have been trying to get these out of my storage for quite a while and they have to go. Curt has been aware of this. The DWIN was supposed to be gone last weekend and the guy that wanted it did not take care of it yesterday. The Runco was a great PJ, got it for a song about five years ago and now Curt isn't even interested in it.

If someone were to give me what I owe in storage fees I could hold on to them another week.

Yeah I hate to say it, but he's right. I could actually use the Runco to boot.

jk, can you throw the RUnco and the Marquee on a pallet? I can arrange pickup in the next day or so..

At the very least they should be taken to an electronics recycler, not tossed out like garbage and ending up in a land fill.

I'll pull them all out and set them on a pallet outside the container. They will be available to the public. I live twenty miles away and can't monitor their existence. Early bird gets the worm.

This is probably too late to ask...

But would you entertain the idea of putting the DTV1100 on a pallet with the parts and shrink wrap it all & ship? I'd be willing to take it if you are just going to toss it...

So I am willing to give you money to do this, and whatever amount that would be at that, for your time, hassle etc... and still a no?... You must not want to get rid of it that bad then...

Oh well, Toss it in the dump and pollute the world some more I guess, why not, one more person surely won't make a difference...

Then I guess the real task is to find someone in CA that will pick it up for me & ship it... lol. I would be there in 10 minutes if I lived by you jkruger. I think its a good idea to give it one more week, since that seems like fair notice.

There fixed it for you.

Not to be to much of a jerk, but it isn't worth the hassle for a lot of people. I am sure if you gave him enough money then he might consider it, but even then he might have enough on his plate that it isn't worth it.

If you are really serious, then find a company to go pick it up and ship it for you. People used to do it all of the time with the gov.

I am sure there are things in Europe that have little value, which might have a lot of value in the States.

Regarding CRTs, exactly how much more are we talking about? Here 8"LC pjs are worth between $300 and $1k. A 9" pj is between $1k and $3k.(Curt notwithstanding) To me that is a correct valuation. Anymore than that and I think one needs to really sit down and weigh the advantages and disadvantages with digital.

paiaboy7 was wanting the Dwin but he did not answer my calls. Maybe he would be willing to take them all and hold them until Curt can get down here. Either way, I will be there sometime the 23rd so if you want then send me a txt.
