For some odd reason I got it into my head that the Blu-ray disks marketed for the United Kingdom were all Progressive. For instance, every title I've bought from Amazon.co.uk were 1080P.

So this morning on blu-ray.com they have an advertisement for Ripper Street. I changed the country of origin to UK and look the title up (it s Brit show) and found the UK offering on amazon.co.uk. But for some odd reason it showed up as being 1080i. I didn't know the UK did interlace.

I thought maybe it was just an Amazon mistake, but the had a picture of the back cover of the package and sure enough, its 1080i/50 16:9. Very strange, and made no reason to buy the UK version over the American.

It's possible that it was shot at 60Hz (or 50Hz) originally, in which case the interlaced version would be without conversion. Is the American version 60Hz or 24Hz?

The title is Ripper Street. The bluray.com pages for the USA and UK versions only report frame rates for UK of 50i. The Amazon.co.uk page says 1080 16:9, but the Amazon.com page says the format is 1.33 NTSC. LOL
