I have, I have, even worked on one in 1986..
That is ESP, the pre-predecessor to Ampro. That unit was built like a brick ***house. As you can see, the H and V sync was NOT autolocking, but would do 1080i, even back in 1985!
Too bad the unit doesn't have the remote, it's useless without it... A big handheld clunky thing. I think the tubes were Clintons.

TSE used to work at ESP before it was VDC...

Looks like they did some of the earliest CRT projector simulator and LC development...

Link to this Page: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4612582.html
Abstract: A video image projection system uses an improved cathode ray tube assembly incorporating a projection cathode ray tube within a housing with a light transmissive heat transfer fluid contained within the housing and surrounding the exterior surface of a portion of the cathode ray tube to transfer heat between the cathode ray tube faceplate and a portion of the cathode ray tube bowl. The heat transfer fluid may also cooperate with a novel faceplate structure on the cathode ray tube to store capacitatively an electrical charge to increase the dynamic range of brightness of the projected image. |

And if you MUST know, I have two same vintage AquaRay sets in stock. The one in the auction was the Aquastar.
ONE DAY (famous last words), I'll resurrect one of the Rays. I wanna see how they compare now to a 1031..

Hey that looks like the same HV lead as in my 4000G, wonder if they have been making them the same all these years?

Pic of the remote control. A couple of knobs missing. Pretty simple thing. I could come up with a schematic if someone wants....

If you're referring to Curt, that's not a warehouse, it's the Smithsonian Institute of CRT Projectors!!

Sure, if nothing else I'd take the boards, esp the backplane/motherboard. The one here is pretty toast. I have schematics...
I do want to get one of these running just for old time's sake..

Yes, I once owned an Aquaray. Never got it going, though.
