I just wanted to publicly thank Steve for his generosity in helping me out with the software.. True to the Christmas spirit of giving, Steve went out of his way to help a stranger.. Steve- I REALLY appreciate your kindness and willingness to help someone who you owe nothing to nor ever met.

Thanks and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!

James

Hello,

I am new to this forum and have not had 5 posts yet. My laptop crashed and I no longer have MX Editor for my MX-810i. The serial number is B611207 0001778. I tried to contact URC's Tech Support and they were not able to assist me. Can anyone on this thread help me in obtaining the software for that remote? I do not know if the one for 850 will work on it but I am willing to try. I am unable to "PM" Steve who has been gracious enough to help others on this forum. Hoping he can assist me as well. My thanks to him in advance.

I went ahead and did the test posts just like the Moderator had suggested earlier in the thread to get to my 5 required now. I am really hoping that Steve responds.

Hi, everyone!
Just another lost soul searching for a solution to remote problems.

My mother owns an MX-980 for an AV system installed by a CI when building a new house. She is not technical and needs simplicity to operate her system. Thus, the remote control was fantastic for her, until it stopped working (rather, nothing responded to the remote). She had a second installer fix the remote the first time it failed. The original CI is out of business and cannot be found. It was discovered that he overcharged many clients and double charged the home builders, so not sure if he is in jail or what.

So now that the remote is not operating the AV system again, I thought I could fix it since I am an IT programmer. Of course I now know what you all do, the software is not given out by the mfg. and the CI is not an option for me. I am hoping Steve, or anyone else can help me with finding the software to program the remote.

And if so, then I may be in the market to replace my 3 remotes at home with a new remote.
