Ok so I am new to CRT projectors and not up to speed with all the abbreviations yet. I have recently aquired a Barco 1208/s for cheap. The problem is that the green over powers everything else. I do not get black it looks green and the green flickers and has a problem that I can only describe as the "V-hold" on the old VHS is off and needs adjusted. I have searched and searched and can not find a solution. It happens when trying to do the set up and the focus and also on video source. Thank you in advance for answering.

What is your source into the Projector and how are you connecting. Name connections on source and connection on Projector.

I have my Samsung Blu-ray player connected through the RGB output. I know I need to have the sync cables connected too but just wanted to see if the green was still there. Sure enough it is. Even when I turn the unit on there isn't really a "black" it has a really green tint to it.

I don't know of any Blu ray that Has RGBHV out. Are you sure your not trying to connect vis YPbPr or YCbCr?

those are not Red Green Blue. you need a transcoder . to convert that to RGBHV.

You are more than likely right. I'm not sure which way it really is. Started to get annoyed an had to walk away. But it also does the same on "S-video" also. I know I need the coder deal just wanted to see if there was a picture. But would that make everything green even with nothing connected? When looking at the tubes the green is blinding and the blue an red you can look into without hurting your eyes.

Ok then the G2's are set to high for Green. I do not own a Barco so hopefully some one will chime in.

Add Barco 1208/s to your head line so those guys look in.

here is some reading on Color space.

And the Barco set up tips

To edit your head line go to your first post and Click the edit button. Then go up to your head line and at the end add Barco 1208 or just 1208 so people will see that in the head line then click submit at the bottom of your posts edit page.

Another option is using a PC as the source with a free software player like MPC-HC. Most PC's have native RGBHV output the same signal as the 1208 was designed for. You will need an RGB breakout cable like the one below.

Thanks Mike but the thing is I want to use it to watch football games and play my playstation on. Using a transcodes isn't a problem. The problem is my green is over powering the other colors even on the start up screen an sometimes it starts to flicker almost like a strobe light.

Skip the high voltage part and go to G2+ Diagnostics.

Don't adjust anything until you have a stable signal. I know with my RPTV when have a YPbPr signal connected to an RGBHV input you will get an image but it will be very green. Try S-Video as as source the scan lines will be huge but you can see if the colors are about right.

So to make sure I understand it right. I need to jump the 2 pins that are out the top and turn the little flat head screw?

Thats the problem, everything is green. Even with no input connected even the menu options and start up screen has a big time green "shade" I guess I want to call it.

Use this Colorbar for the set up procedure . Use a Lap top or PC with the cable Mike showed.

The menu on a Barco are green if I remember correctly from my old BG800 days. Is the screen green or just the text from the menus?

Like I said, I do not own a Barco so I have never done this. But the procedure is very specific on what to do. And to really do it correctly you need to adjust the 1020V first. But this is very High voltage and dangerous for someone
who I have no idea ho much electronic knowledge they have. You probably could get away with not adjusting that voltage to make sure its 1020 volts.

I'd wait for some one else who has done this before chimes in. You'll need a Volt meter that can read that high in the first place.

It is everything that is green. I will try and upload a picture. Not sure if it would be very helpful at all. There is no black its all green.
