Ok awhile back super storm Sandy came through and caused major problems in my area, massive flooding and electrical spikes when the power came on and off repeatedly; this caused My 9500, A.K.A. GOZER, to be damaged, so I am replacing it with a digital.
Homeowners insurance is paying out for this replacement, the amount is sufficient to buy a really good digital. Prices for the machines I have chosen are all within the funds received, because I get employee prices for anything I purchase.
To be clear, price is not a consideration for the purchase, only the best machine to do the job.
I am currently using a 120" diagonal screen, Wilsonart D/W 354. I was thinking of going bigger, and scope. Although that is not really an issue that needs to be considered right now. The screen is plenty large enough.
1] JVC X-75 2013 model 3 chip LCOS

I have not seen this, but, it is the same as what KAL is now using, I believe. His reports seem to indicate it is very good, and others over at AVS concur.
2] Runco LS-5 1 chip DLP

I have seen this one in person it was really bright, but the black levels were not so good. The overall picture was excellent, I imagine it was set up to "wow" in the showroom and the black levels were intentionally elevated, The sales rep, said as much also.

I have seen the q-750 in person too. The picture was unbelievable, really nice, but the specs say max screen of 108" diagonal and the screen I saw it on was a 96" diagonal. AVS searches show many are using it on larger screens than that up to 130" dia. with happy owners reporting great success. But the "expert Reviewers" all seem to hate this one, I wonder WHY?
Are there any other candidates I should be considering?

Why bother with anything runco? If. Othing else, bulbs will be insanely priced , and don't they still just rebadge stuff?

I would have zero interest in Runco. Overpriced for what they are. If you want DLP, there are other better options.

This is what I can get the best deal on being an employee for a Runco dealer.

I'm all ears. The price of each of these is really close at my cost. I think I can get anything through the dealer network, it just takes more paperwork and the discounts are not always the same for items not normally carried. But anything goes.
Oh and the Q-750 is LED, no bulbs, a delta light engine.

Im quite sure some of the older models use Benq parts like colorwheels and stuff. Has Runco ever developed anything from scratch.? Other than the box and some lense solutions.?
If you like the RUNCO 1 chip DLP try out the BENQ W7000.. who knows..

Doubtful. However, Runco is now owned by Planar and uses their projectors...rebadged? I think.
I followed Cliff's w-7000 thread, it's a light cannon for sure, but the black levels are really high from what I can gather.

Well my guess is that you will like the JVC most, when you come from CRT... Im sure you will need to calibrate more and consider around 30-60min heatup with JVC. Where DLP is more stable from cold to hot, and mostly dont need much more then 5 min to be spot on. There is many + and - with both..

That is sad. You are forced to shop where you work. Do they tell you which positions for you and your wife to use also?
Runco is a sham. Buy Monster, its better. 
Seriously, is the X-75 the American model number? Or does your employer prohibit you from buying the American model, too?

Seems everyone hates Runco. I get that, but, I am asking for alternatives, and no one is offering any specific, directly comparable machines.
The W-7000 is not, IMO, a directly comparable machine. Bashing Runco without offering a substitute is of no help. I can get any machine of any make, at a tremendous discount, I just don't know which ones to really look for. The JVC X-75 is the American model of what Kal has.
I do appreciate the input so far, save WAN"s 
I really like the Runco LED Q-750. I believe this is very similar to what VDC is now using instead of CRT. If anyone knows of anything else please chime in.

Have you looked into the Sony VW-1000. People were raving about it a while back, but I have since purchased a JVC and not kept up with the 1000 thread. Native 4k, very bright, good contrast........all this for 25k retail.
It seems improvements are being made at a much slower pace lately so any choice should be good for at least a few years.

Wow, how much are they giving you for the pj?
I am not the biggest Runco fan, but apparently the discounts can get one down to other pj levels. With discounts, IIRC Runco LED was the cheapest of the LEDs out there.
As for if Runco makes their own pjs, who does in the dlp camp? Most of the pjs are warmed over off the shelf components.
For what you should get, it would depend on your viewing habits. Do you just watch movies or is it a little of everything?

The projector is only used for watching movies, most of which are 2:35 scope, in a completely light control, dedicated room.
As for how much, we're still negotiating, but, enough for any of the projectors listed, not the Sony VW-100. Even if they did, I wouldn't spend it all on a P/J.

Since you have already complained about black levels on dlp, then I would recommend the JVC. You might try to find a JVC owner near you (Hogpilot?) to look at it. If you want the best of both worlds then buy a JVC and a DLP like Cliffy's Benq. You could get the RS45 like Crabb for around $2k and the Benq is mid teens.

I will also vote for the JVC.. Any one of them should do.. with a Lumagen mini, or other Radiance.. And keep it up to max performance with auto calibrate.
