Do you have perfect corner/edge focus just as in the middle? F-lenses with that? My upper öeft corner can't be adjusted with blue. Need to make a nessasary asjustment on the tube neck to correct that.

What you have on your machine to achieve perfect image?

unplug the astigwire from green to the astig amp and get it as perfect as possible with just your 2-4-pole astig magnets.
then reconnect and try again (remember to start with astig setting 50 on all zones).

your scheimpflug is probably setup wrong on blue.
with the gt17s you can get pretty decent overall focus, with the hfq900 even more so and there i thought this was common knowledge.

on a side note though, you must know that when using a larger area of the tube face it`s harder to get the corners dialed in focus, especially on a marquee.

it`s a forward backward routine to get it perfect and then you still won`t reach 100%.

For months I thought Blue was alright, but when redid scheimpflug yesterday I did in fact had to redo blue quite a bit. So much so that it's hard to belive. Meaning it's hard to tell whether it's made an improvement or not. I will as someone mentioned before usa a camera for close up and monitor closer check up. Watching from 4 meters away and running back and forth just doesn't do it for me.

Removing Color Correction board yesterday meant no such correction can be made anymore. Can't see any difference so will put it back in and set everything back at 50 as you say. I use to have 40 in the middle and 60 on the corners though. I know I'm overdriving a bit but didn't notice any huge difference anyway.

no, remove the color correction board.

then set all focus zones on 50 get scheimpflug and optical focus the best you can get and then touch up electronically with zone focus.

Not so, the CMM board only adjust zone contrast not zone focus. So leave it out.

Use a short focus monocular to do focus. Works great.

Or use a scope connected to a video camera as scott did.

"Use a short focus monocular to do focus. Works great". Not so.. I bought a 3x binocular and it was China Ebay sh*t. Though monocular may work better of course. Will leave CMM out as it is anyways.

I rather would like screen shots of magnets at full bloom or full documention on what actually works as sharpness goes. Much easier that way. Ramp contrast up to 57 and brightness at 22 and screenshot.

I think you should try re doing greyscale with brightness at 50 and then as a result you'll have to have lower G2's to get good fade to black on screen. With brightness at 22 you will have a harder time not crushing black.

Put up the greyscale pattern and lower G2 till the darkest block is black as the raster then up it one click. do this for all colors then
adjust drives etc and you normally would for greyscale to get nice whites. But using a Probe and a program is the best way.

I was also going low in brightness but was realizing I was missing some low level details.

Actually both. That is the proper start point. Usually Brightness should not change and if so maybe a few clicks. Changing brightness
affect greyscale more than going up or down with contrast from my experience.

Here is a good tech tip from tims site.

I redid the the G2 to your specifications and it became a little more white actually. Brightness is at 50 and contrast at 57 now. Will take some time getting use to. Looking good so far though. You can't see your hand in front of you in those scenes before, let's hope they stay the same after.
