So i got my Cine 8 on the ceiling + new tubes + a 1.2 gain 16:9 90" projection screen.

Setup

Cine 8 with Mec tubes and 75mhz amps (also had this at 100% stock configuration)
Vp50 pro
HDFURY III

Resolution is 1080i, used H-shift (vp50) to move the image to the right (disabled shift on the HDFury)

The image is inside the tube face - positioning is okay, it's in the middle with a few millimeter on each side.

Main problem is that i can't get left and right edges parallel with the frame.

What i do is use Left/right adjustments to get the right side good and the the individual left adjustment to get left parallel but i just can't get it it 100% good.

I noticed that i can get everything good enough when i reset blocks and use the original Vertical size. (16:9 vertical size is 19)

What's causing this? some kind of timingsissue? Or is there a potentiometer i can use to modify vertical size?

I doubt it's a vertical size issue, but could be a vertical linearity one. Size and linearity works in pair, they influence each other.
Look at the vert. linearity value on the scale ( so you can return in case nothing changes ) and adjust it up or down while observing the vertical blanking. If the keystoned shape is gone, you found your problem but you have to redo the whole geometry and convergence adjustments.

WHy not get a convergence on green card? That will cure any small flaws. I've got lots of them.

I have 3 COG cards here, one was in a BG808 tray and working as it should. I tried transplanting it into my cine 8 tray but there was something wrong with green (a dent in the vertical green sides) and no green convergence in the menu.

Will this work with my controller board? I probably made a mistake in the wiring, will try again later tonight!

Okay i got the COG installed, swapped the jumper to the 700-series position and now it works! Got everything sorted, image is inside the projection screen as it should be! Smile

Currently i have R7625128 installed, i also have a R762819 which has a few more wires. Is there any difference in these modules? I'd try it but there is 1 non-color coded connector and no idea where to put it.

And i also pulled a small PCB with a lot of wires and no R-number out of the BG808. Any idea what this is for?

Glad to hear you sort it out.
The stock BG808 does not have seagull and left side adjustments in the geometry menu. That small board, in combination with the newer version of convergence driver and software version 6.32, add seagull and left side adjustments.

Ah thanks for the explanation! I'll put the tray back together later Smile

Since i got the part from you, any idea what R762819 is? Newer older?

That COG board is from a BG1208S IIRC ( a bit bigger, with some extra wires ). Don't mount that, your geometry will go wacko. R7625128 is the way to go for 808 series and cine 8 projectors.
