I am finally getting ready to start my home theater room! I have my NEC 10PG that I acquired from tinman.

I just got it out of storage and am going to start with a floor table setup to familiarize myself with the hardware and controls Smile

I have a dedicated 12x15 foot room and there are no windows in it. just one door at the back end.

Going with a 9 ft wide 1.0 gain screen.

May need some help here if it gets complicated Wink

Sweet! Enjoy the PJ! I just got a PG10 and there was a learning curve with the menus and setup. I been an electrohome guy for the past 11 years. A little patience is all it takes.

I originally had a Sony 12xx projector and am very familiar with that setup. Then I went to DWIN. So this should be a good upgrade!

I am feeding it with a DVDO VP50 through a Moome card. Setting it up at 1080i to start with.

Considering where you got this set, it should be a huge upgrade!

1080i is a perfectly good resolution for this machine, it should be reliable for years at that since youre not running it too hard. Ive had my 9PG running mostly on that resolution for about 4 years now.

The convergence and set up of an NEC is very easy, just try each menu option and make sure you understand what it does and youll have no problems getting it perfectly converged across the entire screen.

Set up my screen today. Did some basic tweaking. Got everything aligned no problem. Picture is amazing at 1080i. Just need to work a bit more on the white balance settings. I have it pretty close but my blacks are a little crushed when I have the highlights right where I want them.

And the big beast lives on!

For what it's worth.... I have put a total of maybe 40 hours on my new projector since. So I'm glad the big Runco will get some real use. My life has just changed too much to sit and watch movies. I'm starting to wonder why I even bothered to buy a new projector in the first place. Oh well..... It was awesome while it lasted!

I'll have to come see it one day when you get it all settled in. BTW, I think I still have a gamma board someplace.....

Marc

It does live on Marc! Smile

I have it pretty dialed in now on a table setup. Screen size is about 130" I plan to put it in the ceiling soon. Have not played with the external switcher yet so I am going directly in via RGB. I do need to do a little work on the gray scale and color balance but it is close. Picture is amazing.

I am actually using it quite a bit. Knowing it was in storage for a few months I have been saving up a few movies that I knew were good and I am now watching them on the big screen. Batman 3, Looper, Game of Thrones etc.
