Mac is going to think all I buy is broken stuff.......... Embarassed

Ok, here is the scoop: I have an Onkyo TX-SR806. Purchased a little over 3 years ago.

Been working fine, or so I thought. About 8-9 months ago, every now and then, I would go into the HT equipment room. The Onkyo would be powered on. Hhhmmmm, I thought. "Did I forget to turn it off last time I was down here (too many beers the night before?)"?

Oh well, I went on. Well, now it is happening more often. That is, the Onkyo will power on by itself. And now, sometimes, it will power off by itself while watching something.

The Onkyo was a "refurbished" unit from Onkyo; the warranty has run out.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

You might want to make that plural, as in more than one.................

Not the first AVR to go weird.

Ok, Mac provided some very valuable information and we hope that has corrected or, should I say, "exorcised" the AVR? Laughing

We'll give it a few days and see.

Thanks again MAC!!!

I hadn't heard of this problem on this series of Onkyo before... Was it external/environmental?

Steve, I see you didn't answer my question. I was actually curious if you heard something of this before. It wasn't that I was avoiding your question.
