Hi guys, I'm pretty new at this and have a bunch of questions. Hopefully y'all can help again Very Happy.

What do the following things mean/do?
Back porch
sync width
front porch
scan frequency
polarity
pixel clock

What are some standard settings for those items for 1080p, and 720p

Also, is it best to have multiples of 24 for the refresh rate for watching movies but multiples of 30 for watching TV?

And when you guys say a picture is "soft" when in 1080p, does that mean it doesn't look that sharp and would look sharper in 720p? How/why does this happen and how do you fix this problem?

Thanks guys.
