Sorry to hear, How and what did they take?
Our upstairs neighbours got broke into 2 weekends ago.
I just finished installing a couple of surprises, if they come to my place.
Best wishes

Of all the things i have here, they only took my Wii, 3 gameboys, and a tin of pipe tobacco. They went through all my draws and pulled all my clothes out, but that was all they took.
If i was home, they would be enjoying a night in the klink right now. I havent played cricket in 20 years but i dont think that will matter...

He said the CRTs were not touched.
That sucks, but it looks like they didn't get much. You are nicer than me. If I would have caught them, then they would be hanging in my tree out front.

See, CRTs have a use no one thought of! Theft prevention! They are "worthless" and heavy so no one will take them
Sorry to hear about the rest of the stuff, I think the worst part would be the lack of feeling secure anymore.
Hope they don't come back!!

From what was taken, it definitely sounds like teenagers.
Last December my retired neighbor heard a window break, then my home alarm/siren go off, and saw/caught two kids reaching into the bedroom and pulling out an Xbox 360.
Unbeknowst to the BOTH of them was the unit was completely inoperable , and it along with a bunch of other old amps and things were stacked there until I could get them to the recycling plant. Talk 'bout bad timing. I'd only placed the X360 there a week earlier, and they just happened to break THE window (covered by mini-blinds that I never open) with that junk there The 15 year old is in a juvenile detention center 300 miles away now. His accomplice was only 8 years old, and (IMO) not fully aware what he was doing. I knew the 15 year old though,,,How Stupid Can You Be To Break Into The House Of Someone You Know...In Broad Daylight Too! Wanted to wax his %#@* all up and down the street, but thank God, I allowed our wonderful juvenile justice system to work (That's a whole separate OFF TOPIC discussion though!);
And get this, the 15yo had been sent off 10 months earlier for breaking and entering another home in the hood Didn't learn his lesson I suppose.
But I understand that insecure feeling after your castle has been invaded .
So I invested in some Lorex wireless cameras for outside & a 4-ch. DVR.
The cams, along with the "Under 24 Hour Surveillance" stickers on tall the windows will keep the young slime far away. And if not, they'll be on Candid Camera for sure. BTW, the 15yo DENIED he'd taken anything..with an adult eyewitness.
My HT is completely dark, and on the complete opposite side of the home...with only 1 window..and my Draper is blocking that. Logistically, they would have to (1) Be HT fanatics, & (2) know where what they wanted, in the dark, was located in the HT to hit that and (3) be The Flash, or NEO, or someone. Not to mention, the alarm, cameras, the time required after these things are triggered, etc.,

I think you are lucky. Often it is not what they steal but what they break and ruin!
Dude, you obviously are tech inclined. Get a DVR security system! they are really cheap now or a alarm.
I worry about this all the time as I live in a low income-ish neighborhood so I have a alarm system and in the last 3 years I have been broken into 3 times through the basement. They only got off with a few cheap items as the police station is only 1/4 mile away.

Trouble with a dog is you get attached to it and if a real thief comes along and kills your dog...
Better security advertises that you have something worth stealing.

No point being pessimistic; it probably would't work anyway.

With security as it is now, they wont get in real quick, if they did, they wont get back out through any door or window. They will also be on camera before they even drive in, so theyd have to be pretty incredible to avoid being seen on the cameras at the very least.
