Did 3m make a lighter tint red c? This is darker than I thought and the the red seems a bit rich. But dropping the red hurts brightness. I cant be the only one to notice this.

you don't drop the red. You increase red drive with a red c-element to make up for the lost light output. The red tube is a perfect place for this since the tube is only approx. at 25% max output (full white field)

9500LC is the model. Using spyder 3. Thos may just be a preference thing and out of my control. The wife says I am being picky.

You will never get reds without a red C, they will always look Orangey.
How old is your spyder 3? I bet its out of spec. If older than a year trow it out. Tri Stimulus Probes are not meant to last very long.
They are best when used in conjunction with a Spectroradiometer Probe like the Eye 1Pro or Colormunki Spectro. The you use the tri stimulus since its faster .

It is about 2 years old....got it on a closeout on Amazon for 40 bucks.

BINGO!!!
Get the new i1Pro 3 display here. Its a much better tri stimulus and lasts longer without drifting.
What Program do you use? I think HCFR now has support for it. But for a few extra bucks get the chromapure package.
You'll be loving it.
