so i feel stupid doing this, but i've seen it before and i could use all the good vibes i can get right now. been having some "lower end" discomfort recently - not really pain, just ... discomfort. been that way for a few weeks. this past couple of days added nausea and some abdominal pain - sort of like stickhes from running.

popped in to see the doc, who gave me a THOROUGH exam of the abdomen and "lower end" (moon river, wider than a mile ....)

and then sent me off for a battery of tests including a collection test over three days of swipe samples. and the doc also is setting me up to see a specialist for an colonoscopy. looking forward to that one. the endoscopy (other end of the system) was okay, but i've never heard good things about colonoscopies.

so if you can spare a good thought in my direction, i'd appreciate it.

cheersLance

I'm guessing the true blacks involved in this explains why you posted this to CRT Projectors and not OT... Wink Gotta laugh to keep from crying, right?

That said, saddened to hear of your discomfort and do hope this doesn't portend a looming health battle of any sort. All my bests, for sure.

Mate you must try to remain positive, as hard as that may be, staying positive is very important. Things may not be as bad as you think, and thinking the worst is never going to help.

Hope youre feeling better soon Smile

Ok just a little tip from your uncle Dave; make sure the doctor does not have both hands on your shoulders during the exam...

Now that you've thought that one out, don't sweat the colonoscopy, it really isn't that bad, I've had it done 5-6 times for my lower end issues which were just minor polyps that kept coming back. The Doc Snipped them off and the last scope was "clean".

HEHEHeHE you'll see how funny that 'Clean" is when you have the roto-rooter done later.

thanks Dave, there's an image i don't need. i'll for an analog exam instead of digital or does that mean three fingers (RBG) instead of one?

you know, i've heard of [other] forum members getting ball caps or t-shirts. group colonoscopy is a new one.but i'll ask.

the nagging part of the appointment was that half way through he stopped talking about me going to a specialist and started using the word "surgeon".

Just in case no one else has inflicted these on you (yet), here's a recommended list of "you'll think these are hilarious when they give you the drugs" lines:

"Take it easy Doc, you're boldly going where no man has gone before!"
"Find Amelia Earhart yet?"
"Can you hear me NOW?"
"Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
"You know in Arkansas we're now legally married."
"Any sign of the trapped miners Chief?"
"Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!"
"Hey Doc, let me know if you find my dignity."
"You used to be an executive at Enron didn't you?"
"Could you write a note for my wife saying that my head is in fact not up there."

Here's hoping you can soon look back on it (see what I did there??) and laugh...

You forgot.
"Is your other job in the tax department (IRS for those in the US)?"
"Isn't a tonsillectomy done from the other end?"
"Do you drive a flying saucer to work?"
"Is spelunking one of your hobbies?"
"Does that thing have a sun filter?"
"If I stop talking you've gone too far"
"Can I get some pics for the family photo album?"
"Don't I get dinner and a movie first? I have my own home theater."
"I have my own home theater with CRT projection for the best image quality and true blacks, would you like to view the results on that?"

I wish you all the best zaphod.

You haven't been exposed to any red fungus lately have you? Hint, watch the movie Dreamcatcher. Wink

Send your receipts to the tax department with a note saying you have already been through that so they can leave you alone this year. Wink

well i just finished day three of "sample collection" and i'm glad that's over. ick. when i was walking the ... samples ... over to the lab i was thinking that getting mugged would be a mixed blessing. on the one hand i didn't want to go through that again, but on the other hand it would serve the mugger right to get a pile of ...

oh - and the muppet one had me spit tea over the keyboard - thanks for that mate. I told it to my wife, she didn't want to hear the others Very Happy
