Cannot get overall focus on the blue tube (BARCO GRAPHICS 808) I can crack focus in the center, but the rest of the screen look similar to applying Vaseline on the outside edge of a camera lens,
also the digital remote focussing on the blue does not seem to have much effect on the top and bottom of the screen
Any thoughts most welcome
Thanks
Trevor

If you defocus the centre, do the edges come into focus? If so, the focus/H shift board is bad. The top and bottom (and sides) do not have much effect on the BArco, it's a bad design compared to others, so that's normal, but the sides should be able to focus as well as the middle.

Many thanks for the speedy reply,
In answer to your question NO the edges do not come in when defocussing the centre, thinking about it maybe its a ring magnet problem on the tube neck, but do not know enough about them to venture into that area
I has recently in the last week been away to have a new H/V quad unit fitted and I was also told that the blue tube may not be aligned properly, however in the setup mode the cross hairs are centred, so I am somewhat at a loss at present.
Many thanks for your interest,
Trevor

It's still possible that you have a bad focus/H shift board. That, or the astig output board can be bad. Either one could cause poor edge focusing. The only way to tell is to swap them out, or send both to me for testing.
