I have a newly acquired G70 and have a problem saving things to the memory. In service mode, I hold down the memory button for 30 secs and still don't get the option of where to save. It says save complete but nothing else. I have another one tat supposedly doesn't work (I haven't taken it out of the box yet) so I have spare parts. What part can I replace if it's gone bad?

There are two different versions of the G70 firmware, with some differences in how memory is handled. If you have the newer firmware, there are two different menus - the main "service man" mode menu you're using, but also a second one in an "extended service mode".

Here are a couple that might get you started:

If those don't do the trick, try searching "sony g70 memory resolution firmware" to find some threads here, and similar on google to find some threads at AVS.

Thanks, I have super service mode. I was just relying on the manual and couldn't find a definitive thread in the search.
