Will a 6pg xtra fill a 120" wide CIH screen that has a 1.5 gain?

It will, but it won't look very good doing it
I would go 92" wide as a maximum.

Is it 120 inch width or diagonal??
My screen is 125 inch diagonal when in full size at 5:4 aspect, for a long time i used a 9PG Plain on it and it was plenty bright enough. Lots of hours gaming and movies, and my tubes show no visible wear.
My screen is nothing more than a wall painted white.
This being an XTRA has P16 tubes and is 1000 lumen compared with the Plain having only 800.
Guess it depends on how blindingly bright you really want it!!

Good point...and the ultimate one, I suppose. If you have the luxury, set it up (crudely) at different screen sizes and see what you like!
I'd only add you consider the ambient lighting conditions you watch in. I've now seen a CraigR setup G90 in 3D on a suitably sized screen -- while amazing and way brighter than my little 750 lumen machine that shoots onto a comparatively larger (mine is ~80"wide) 1.0 screen...I'd still choose my bigger screen. Why? We watch 90% of our content in pitch black at night and I like how it looks enough that I wouldn't trade for a smaller screen to provide increased illuminance. I also wouldn't want to go bigger as I think I'd start wishing for what I have now.
Plus, the 10% we watch in daylight? The viewing is tolerable, but not pleasurable. Our basement has a few 24x36 windows up high and a door that has opaque windows. In daylight hours, with shades drawn, ambient light equivalent to perhaps (4) 7W incandescent night lights spills uniformly into the room. For me, it doesn't take much ambient light to ruin things -- and as your screen gets larger, this surely would become increasingly true.
Finally, it seems to me that your CIH setup means you'd be supporting up to 2.4:1 AR at the image height, you'd only be using a small amount of the phosphor in the middle of the tube face for 16:9 content, etc. That would have to start losing "punch" at 120" width -- even in the dark.
This reminds me -- you can only push the tubes so hard. When I first setup mine, I kept cranking it up to the point it was blooming green all over. I recall posting my first pics that I was pretty pleased with. In retrospect, I imagine folks holding their hands-up over their eyes while they typed "WHOA - dial that contrast down a little!" What a noob I was still am...

I view in a dark room. If it was any brighter, youd need to wear sunglasses.

Screen is a Stewart ultramatte 150 and it's 120" wide. With the lights off you can't see your hand in front of your eyes.
I have a Panasonic ae4000 setup now.

My friend has a same width screen (a painted wall) he had a 9PG xtra, which is basically the same, and it looked great imho, on default brightness / contrast settings

How reflective is the stuff in your room including the walls and ceiling?? My walls and ceiling do reflect a bit of light, but the wall with the screen is painted black. Havent got round to painting the other walls yet.
If the room is black with the lights out, which mine also is, itll come down to how well everything else resists reflecting light.
My 9PG Plain was very bright in bright scenes, and my XG was blindingly bright to start with.
Do you have the screen there allready?? if so, youve got nothing to lose by giving it a try apart from your time. If you dont like it, youre no worse off.

I did about 3,000 hrs on my PG Plain on that 125 inch 5:4, no visible wear with the lenses off. Aussie Al can back that claim up, he was here for half those hours and also helped move the projector. Any brighter and i wouldnt be able to stand some of the bright flashing that is on some of my games... Samurai Shodown and King of Fighters do quite abit of full screen flashing, and its very hard on the eyes in a dark room. Plenty bright enough for movies, i dont see why youd ever want it brighter, the contrast ratio easily makes up for it.
