After a recent calibration a gray colored horizontal band about the width of a raster grid line shows up when the screen is all black or source material that displays very dark scenes. It runs from the top of the screen to the bottom about 1/3 of the way across from the right border. It shows up regardless of source, resolution or timings. Even if no source is connected it's present and I tried to photographing it but am having no luck.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on the cause?

probably from the internal patterns which are always present but you didn`t notice them before.

Do you have the same issue? This is only a single line; nothing else is present.

you mean the faint vertical line, there is an extensive thread about this on curtpalme.
there is a mod for this but it`s best not to do this as it elevates blacklevel.

look at the post from stridsvogen on page 6 and have a look at how to eliminate this noise easy by switching the chip responsible for internal video on and off, mike posted about this on page 4.
