I bet those C2-7100 units have a lot of hours on them. I have seen the power supply cause the 0090 fault for the FPGA and not allow the unit to boot properly. The power supply is very easy to replace on these units. So order a power supply and put it in yourself and update the firmware to the latest version to get the latest features. Connect the unit to your wireless router and use the CORIOtools software to set up. (It's a lot easier than using the dial on the unit)

Great to know that particular failure is known to come from PS. I went ahead ordered the supply last Thursday, JIC as it was $25 and in-stock - the TVOne folks suspected it might cause problems, too. I wondered about the software tool setup (I have the model without the bazillion buttons on the front), but might not have tried it unless the front panel was a real pain -- with your tip, sounds like I'll skip that and go straight to their software. Incidentally, I think I have to use RS232 to upgrade the firmware on my particular model (some of the C2 allow firmware updates over ethernet, IIRC from the website).

cheers,
Matt

Yep -- swapped in new power supply and the error code went away! Awesome. I haven't hooked anything up or updated firmware yet. I see in the manual where the power button is a standby button -- the LEDs go off (except red by power), but that little fan never shuts off! How much power does the thing pull in standby?

I also just love how they put a standard laptop-style power supply (12V 4A with molex connector) in there complete in its plastic case. I'm thinking I'll remove the plastic case, drill some large holes in it for airflow...doing so must dramatically increase the PS lifetime...

This is now a ~$350 score! Great to be the one who SUCKS on here for a change! Wink
