that is not red green and blue colors its YPbPr
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YPbPr
Y carries luma (brightness or luminance) and synchronization (sync) information. Y = 0.2126 R + 0.7152 G + 0.0722 B Before the advent of color television, the Y axis on an oscilloscope display of a video waveform represented the intensity of the scan line. With color, Y still represents intensity but it is a composite of the component colors.
PB carries the difference between blue and luma (B − Y).
PR carries the difference between red and luma (R − Y).
Read up on color space and RGB and YPbPr and YCrCb, 4:2:2, 4:4:4, etc etc etc

Right but it is not Red Green Blue Colors!!!! rhe red is Pr which is a the red part of the signal, Blue is Pb the blue component of the signal, Green is not Green!! its Y which is the luma part of the signal. Did you read and understand the links I gave you?
You need a RGB TRANSCODER!!! No other way around it.
I have more patience here than anyone I think, but man your wearing me down Mr Muttley.

You're dealing with a set that is well over 20 years old. That's why.

Ok so your unit does have SCART out? Does it have 2 Scart outs? One should be also an input for recording correct?
Did you read the manual for the DVD recorder?
http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2024212312.pdf
Look on Page 88 and 89, there is a setting for setting the SCART to RGB. try that.
Make sure COMPONENT is off, you have to make sure SCART is set to RGB.

The scart adaptor does not convert a composite signal to to the appropriate Scart signals. So I bet that the adaptor is just splitting the composite signal to each RGB equally giving you a black and whit signal. there is no chroma signal being used.
Athanasios |
It doesnt work that way. The adaptor is only changing the plug type, it simply routes the composite signal from an RCA socket to pin 20 of the SCART plug, or if the switch is set to output, it routes pin 19 of the SCART plug to the RCA socket. The SCART socket on any display device will have composite video in on pin 20. When SCART is carrying RGB, it uses composite video for the sync signal. SCART is merely an all in one interface cable. Nothing more.
As i said here:
| CasetheCorvetteman wrote: |
SCART is a multi mode type of plug, it does have composite video ( which is also where it takes the sync signal for an RGB input ) so the adaptor is not converting the signal in any way, all it is doing is changing the plug type. Composite video is on pins 19 ( out ) and 20 ( in ) of the SCART socket. If the unit sees no blanking voltage on pin 16, it will set to composite video mode in almost all cases. 1-3 volts on pin 16 will switch to RGB mode, and will blank the composite video, but uses that composite video for the sync signal.
|
Thats the standard of operation.
If the set doesnt accept composite via the SCART sockets, you should get no image at all, you should simply get sync to the signal and no image.
