No, there was a wiring harness going to several boards in the card cage. I think it applied a DC bias that shifted slightly to the H and V output section. |
Offer them up to the last guy on the forum running an ECP |
I think that is me...and I do want one of those orbiters (with the other 4500+ parts I'm about to PM you for), Curt... My question is how does it "know" when there is a static image?
Cheers,
Matt

some stuff has gotta go from time to time... i killed my sony rvp a week ago, but kept all the electronics
makes heaps of room !
no i am fiddling around with my two barco g 808, the one with the perfect tubes has the weird orientation problem and the other one has a broken controller... so that might be two broken controllers !
if you want to get rid of 80x controller boards, i'll take two
got two half broken lcd tv in though... 42" and 32"... they fill the space just fine
here are some pictures of my hoarding... it's worse in reality !

Yes indeed! The fact that you can see your floor, carpet and tabletop clearly shows me that you have NO idea how to collect electronics!

So this 'floor' thing that you speak of... this is what is under all my electronics??? I thought the floor was replaced with electronics chassis from various items!!

BTW, 'Cleaning' does not mean ''moving crap from one area of the house to another'. I've done that for the last 10 years. Took another load of LCD/plasma PC boards to the recycler today...

No I think that's what people call 'organizing'. What ever that means

@Motobias
I see in the pictures that the three fans are stopped.
While the projector is on.
This is a bad thing

You should have spent a day stripping out the aluminum and selling it rather than giving it to the recyclers. You gave up possibly several hundred bucks CASH value by doing that.
Heck, I'd probably have bought those Marquee rear heat sinks from you. I've still got plans that will need some big heat sinks like those.
If you scrap more of those down, let me know via PM, please.
I've thrown projector parts in the dumpster, myself. Or hauled them off to the local electronic surplus yard where
some people sometimes take what I bring.
Not too long ago, I scrapped down a working Barco SLM R6 DLP projector. 3 chip DLP type. In perfect working order.
But I'd bought two (the working one and a parts unit) for 500 bucks, and I sold the lens for 350 bucks and got
2 grand for the two good lamp modules. I made my money. I yanked some of the DLP chips for spares (and have sold them for extra $$$) but otherwise sent the units out pretty much complete.
I couldn't sell their controller board assemblies on ebay for ONE DOLLAR EACH.

Maybe, but not likely. More like $100-200 for a few hours work. My time is better spent doing audio quotes or repairing boards.. or throwing out more chit. Naturally I have at least 12 more heatsinks. So if you ever need one, I do still have some.
Besides.. if you've ever met the metal recycling guys, most seems like honest hardworking dudes, but they're sure not making a killing. If I give a few hundred $$ of metal in a year to guys that work for a living, but are down on their luck, I think my junk is better given to them than me giving the equivalent in cash to some charity organization where 90% goes to administrative costs, or junkies on the street begging for handouts. Just my $.02.
