As for 1600 being superior to 4k digital pjs, I am not sure. The JVC just doubles a 1080p image, so it is 1 to 1. Not sure what the Sony is doing, but I think it has multiple configurations.

I agree: But to make use of a CIH, the JVC (or whatever) has to scale the video's 800 lines to 2160 which will create issues and then use an anamorphic lens which also has transfer function issues. With the blend, everything is linear. Did I miss something on this?

I remember him asking me what I was going to do in the big bedroom and I just smiled and pointed to the 909s.

Damn! I didn't know you had a pair of 909's. If you figure out a way to get them blended, you will become my new hero.

Bob

Yeah you are probably correct on a scope screen. I guess I am thinking of zooming where it would just double and you have the black bars.

Unfortunately the 909s may never get blended. It is a long story, but I think the owner is going to live here permanently. I go back and forth, but I doubt I will stay in South Fl. Maybe your customer is looking to do a 909 blend! Shocked Mr. Green

Nash - Thanks for finding TSE's earlier post.

IMHO, this shows how much improvement can be made by blending. With blending, we are actually moving each peak almost twice as far apart both horizontally and vertically.
Horizontally, because we are displaying 1064 columns instead of 1920 in the same space.
Vertically, because we are using almost twice the height for the same number (800, 1080, 1200, 1600 or whatever) of rows.

Also, since, for the same final summed resolution, the video frequency is about 1/2 what it is for a single projector; the level of excitation of the alternating white/black pixels has increased in dynamic range by about 6db.

No wonder it looks so damn good!

In a month or so, I'll be living in Ft. Meyers Beach for about 2 weeks. Is that close to you?

That is not to far. It is about a hour and a half or so across alligator alley.

Why would you go to Boca Raton? VDC is in Cape Canaveral. It is about three hours away from me.

I guess I really don't want to go to Boca, but 1-1/2 hrs is close enough to peek at your 909's.

Fort Myers is the on the other corner of the square from VDC. From Ft Myers to Orlando and over should be about three and a half hours.

I wish I could make it out bro but this traveling has me all messed up. I truly value my time at home these days.......

I think you should throw those 9" tubes in your 8500's bro and go for it. Dont forget I have two assemblies here for you (minty).

Damn frikin help!!!! I just hired a new cook to take the load off me and the other guy who has been unreliable cause of all the hours he
was working, so now hes calling off more. He is trying to get fired so he can collect 99 weeks of bam bam money. Piece of sh*t. I'm stuck at work tonight....this talk here got me all excited to move the 9500 into the theater but now who knows what's going to happen. I aint going to let this bastard get me to fire him. I'll have to get him to quit. In NYS if you quit you have to wait 8 weeks to collect unemployment. If you get fired you can collect right away. I think there is a way to fight it but I don't want to go through all that.

he is 31 and has been coming to my place for years, worked a few times as a dishwasher, fired him then collected tot he max each time. its his MO. I figured by 31 hed grow up. Nope! he must have had close to 40 jobs since i have known him. \

Idiot.
