I've seen this problem before, a few years ago, can anyone remind me what board causes this? The pix occasionally blanks out as well. I can't remember what causes this, and the set isn't in my shop.

Guys

If U7 doesn't fix it then entire DPB or CLM. I have only seen this on Ultras, we had three bad in one edge blend installation.

Hello

The chip, or tarnish on the contacts. If U7 is socketed then get a PLCC chip puller, note the orientation of the label first, then pull U7 from the socket and clean the little metal contacts, carefully so not to bend anything, reseat U7 and try firing up.

If U7 is soldered in then an entire DPB may be needed.

with me it was bad contacts so i had to take the entire backplane out and solder all connections and clean them with alcohol.

after this the problem went away.

i had this problem come and sometimes go randomly and sometimes not at all.

my u7 is soldered on the dpb.

Just get an IC puller to have on hand. Especially if your CRT is in a damp location. Cleaning the socketed chips twice a year helps eliminate strange problems. I would also get Some denatured Alcohol and a soft tooth brush to clean the boards as well. The after cleaning the Connections Apply Some Stabilant 22. I treated my Marquees about two years ago and no connection problems since where I had them all the time before.

Hi
Just bought an IC Puller on Ebay. Now i had to wait till it arrives.
The Board itself looks like new. The CRT has less then 600h, only
in clean conditions
I pressed on the chips, the U7 didnt move, but the U16 was not
correct in its socket. one edge i was able to put some mm down.

If i put the U16 out of its socket i had to restore all may data?
Is this correct or is the memory on an other place.

Thanks
Thomas

There are no user memories on the DPB, you are okay.

When I've seen that it was caused by the video blanking sporadically kicking in. All the above remedies sound like likely fixes.
