1080i@96 hz looks really good on a marquee. you can try that rez, i think you'll love it if 1080p@60 or 48hx is too soft. I preffer the softer more film like image.

@Nashou66

Sorry i didnīt order the Bellows from you the last days.
I will order them for the VDC 9500 i get in a few weeks if thats okay?

@everyone
Did find some time two days ago to remove the fungus from the tubes and replaced the glycol.
Luckily that wenīt well. Fungus is gone, only a few small bubbles left.

I decided to not change the bellows at the given time cause i have the option too buy a 9500 VDC in Germany really cheap.

And will keep the 8500LC as a backup.

Until i have the 9500 LC i do need some advice.

Starting today i had arcing on the 8500LC (coming from the HV Splitter)

Is that common , can i fix it temporary?
Resulting (i guess )of the Arcing some tubes start or donīt start randomly.

Has anyone in Europe have a splitter on stock?

Cheers
Ronald

You sure its the splitter and not one of the HV lines going to the tubes? Curt I believe has all of that in stock for cheap, and I can't imagine shipping to the EU being that expensive.

Is it sure that all of the HV wires are locked firmly? Or can you see any burning or cracking sign on the splitter?

Try Josef Kukurta alias Homecinema24 (homecinema24<at>aol.com) I'm sure he can sell you a splitter.

@friedwart

Sent a mail to homecinema24 already Wink Thanx for your reply !

@gjaky

Itīs the connector of the Red HV Lead on the Splitter .. it doesnt snap in correctly anymore.

For the moment i fixed the problem with Electrical isolation tape.

So after three hours.. every issue has resolved itself Wink
Guess my Marquee just wantīs to run more.

Picture is stable as a rock now. Only some issues with corner focus i will hopefully figure out tomorrow.

Next up starting with the Board mods.. it will be a long weekend.

Any suggestion which Board Modification i should start with first? (beside the squeeze mode.. already done that)

Thanx again
Ronald

Probably you can start with VNB mods, since those have the most effect -I think
But really you should wait with modding, let the machine run for 20-30hrs, maybe more problems will raise up, and if this happens after the moddig, the you won't know that the modding caused the problem, or it was already there... We are just want to save you from unnecessary headache Wink

P.S.: Can it be that until the Glycol is bubblefree the picture isnīt that sharp on the edges (i got it even sharper before i changed the glycol)
